Abstract

1,016,334. Valves. GASKELL & CHAMBERS (NON DRIP MEASURE) Ltd. Aug. 3, 1962 [Aug. 23, 1961], No. 37874/61. Heading F2V. A valve for dispensing liquids, such as milk or fruit squashes from a storage vessel comprises a plunger 5 having an axial bore 8 extending to one end of the plunger and communicating with lateral ports 7. The plunger is slidable in a guide sleeve 3a and has a head 5a which carries a sealing washer 6 for seating on the end of the sleeve. A cup-shaped actuating member 9, provided with arms 11 for engagement with a cup or glass, is detachably secured to the plunger by a spring-loaded cotterpin 13 which has an enlarged part engageable with a groove 14 of the plunger. A spring 10 between the cup member 9 and sleeve 3a loads the valve to the closed position. The cup member 9 may be removed by moving the pin 13 against a spring loading so that a reduced diameter portion of the pin is opposite the groove, the cup member may then be removed.
