Abstract
Waste liquors from paper machines are treated with the reaction product between epior a di-chlorhydrin and a di- or poly-amine, with amino groups separated by at least 3 carbon atoms, in a ratio of less than one to one mols. The pH can be adjusted with formic, acetic or hydrochloric acid and alum may be added.ALSO:Waste liquors produced in paper making are treated with the reaction product between epi or a di-chlorhydrin and a di or polyamine, with amino groups separated by at least 3 carbon atoms, in a ratio of less than one to one mole at a point preceding the catch pot in order to improve sedimentation of the waste fibres.
