Abstract

A powder mixture for making steel articles by powder metallurgical techniques consists of .Ni.1-4.9% .Mn.0.1-2.0% .Mo.0.1-5.0% .C(graphite).0.1-1.0% the remainder, apart from impurities, being iron. Up to 5% of the iron may be replaced by one or more of the following element(s) up to the maximum limit as shown: .Al.1.0% .B.0.3% .Cr.5.0% .Cu.5.0% .Mg.1.0% .Nb and/or Ta.4.0% .P.0.3% .Si.1.0% .Ti.2.0% .W.4.0% .V.0.3% .Zr.0.6% .Se.0.6% .Pb.0.5%
