Abstract
1,097,792. Code-converters. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 29, 1965 [May 2, 1964], No. 18099/65. Heading G4H. Signals in binary coded form with the most significant digit first are fed via gating means 28 (Fig. 1) into the first stage A of a code converter A, B, C (Fig. 2, not shown) in which the digits 1-5 are stored by setting one of the bistable devices 11-15 respectively and the digits 6-9 by setting the bistable device 15 with one of the devices 11-14. Between each signal pulse through the gate 28 a multiplication pulse on the line 4 multiplies the contents of the code converter by two, any carry from the bistable device 15 being entered in the second stage B of the converter. The decimal number stored in the converter is available at the outputs 5-9 of the stages A, B and C.
