Abstract

109,686. Jacobi, R. Oct. 31, 1916. Gases and vapours, treating with.- Cops, cheeses, &c. of yarn are placed upon pins a on carriers b which are hung side by side on parallel rails g which pass into a moistening chamber A. The carriers have closing plates e at the back and the front which close the chamber when the carrier is in or out of the chamber. Moist air is circulated by spraying cold or warm water into a pipe communicating with a pipe l having discharge nozzles m and is drawn from the chamber by a pipe n. The direction of circulation may be reversed by spraying water in the opposite direction through a second set of sprayers. The rate of circulation is varied by varying the pressure under which the water is sprayed. The pressure in the moistening chamber may be varied by operating a valve p which admits fresh air into the circulating-system,
