Abstract

1,093,038. Endless conveyers. SIEMENS A. G. March 28, 1966 [March 29, 1965], No. 13504/66. Heading B8A. [Also in Division B6] Letters 2 in a sorting machine are fed in overlapped relation via a horizontal conveyer belt 1 and belts 4, 5, to a vertical stacker (not shown). A stop 8a is pivoted down by each successive letter 2 engaging a feeler 6 so as to hold back the next following letter 2e. If however the letters are overlapped in the opposite sense i.e. with the letter 2e on the opposite side of the feeler-engaging letter (Fig. 3 not shown), the letters are allowed to proceed in overlapped relation.
