Abstract

1,088,253. Scaffolding. P. L. G. JOHNSTON and S. G. JOHNSTON. Jan. 11, 1965, No. 1164/65. Heading E1S. A scaffold comprises uprights and horizontal tubes engaged in sleeves 12, 13 respectively on the ends of horizontal cross tubes 11 and secured by split pins in aligned holes 16 in the tubes and sleeves. The tube 13 may be secured ,to a sleeve slidable on the tube 11. The scaf- ,fold may comprise posts and horizontal tubes in a single plane connected to a wall by cross tubes having clamps engaging window frames &c. The uprights and longitudinal tubes both comprise lengths connected together by spigot and socket joints. Telescopically adjustable uprights, screw adjustable feed and supports for a load at the top are described. Braces have U-shaped or flattened ends.
