Abstract

108,777. Blatherwick, H. Oct. 23, 1916. Foot-cycles.-For aiding the locomotion of a person who has had a leg partly or wholly amputated, a scooter is provided with a standard carrying a support designed to accommodate the knee, stump, or base of the injured limb. The standard D is pivoted at E to the foot-plate A of the scooter and is held in desired position by a link F pivoted to the plate at G and fitted at H with a split ring adjustable upon the standard. The pillar K of the support M is adjustably clamped within the standard, and the support may take the form of a knee rest, or of a cupshaped member carrying a bag of textile material to receive the stump of a limb, or of a ring-shaped piece adapted to fit the person's body when the leg has been wholly removed. According to the Provisional Specification, means may be provided for locking the wheels of the scooter.
