Abstract

1,087,528. Fluidised bed distributor plate. CHAR BONNAGES DE FRANCE. Oct. 29, 1965 [Oct. 30, 1964], No. 45944/65. Heading B1F. [Also in Division F4] In a fluidised bed furnace 5, the distributor plate 1 is formed with upwardly flaring openings 2, to some or all of which ducts C provide fuel. The lower parts 3 of said openings may be circular or polygonel in section and the upper parts 4 may be pyramidel or frustoconical in shape. Ducts C may also open into the upper parts 4, and they may extend through the walls of the furnace from a common annular supply pipe, Fig. 6 (not shown). The common supply pipe may take the form of a V disposed within the plate and serving several of the openings. Fig. 7 (not shown). The furnace may be used for the treatment of solids or slurries, e.g. industrial or sewage sludges, filter cake or mined or quarried solids.
