Abstract

1,087,360. Hypodermic syringes. HAUSTRUPS FABRIKER A.S. May 25, 1965 [June 16, 1964], No. 22172/65. Heading A5R. A syringe comprises a plunger 12 in a barrel 10 surrounded by a protective cover 14, the plunger, barrel and protective cover each being formed as a hollow cylinder with an open rear end and the rear ends of the cylinders being flush with one another and sealed together. The barrel has a central bore 18 at the front end which is closed by a pin 22 extending inwardly from the cover. The plunger extends into the barrel for the whole or a part of its length. The part of the barrel not occupied by the plunger may contain injection liquid. A case (Fig. 3, not shown) containing a hypodermic needle and comprising a cylinder open at the front end and closed at the rear end may. be located in the plunger, a rearwardly directed flange on the case being sealed to the rear ends of the plunger, barrel and cover. For use, the rear ends of the cylinders are cut adjacent the seal. The cover may be made of compressible material and be used as a piston rod or a separate piston rod may be provided. The parts are made of sheet metal, e.g. tin or polyolefins, e.g. polypropylene, polyesters or nylon.
