Abstract
1,086,753. Electro-photographic liquid developers. DENNISON MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. Feb. 3, 1965 [Feb. 6, 1964], No.4700/65. Heading G2H. Developer for latent electro-photographic images comprises a toner suspended in an insulating liquid having dissolved therein a mixture of (1) a metal salt of an organic acid, the metal having a valency of 3 to 4, and (2) an amine. Specified metals are Al, Fe, Th, Zr, La, Ge, Sn, V and F1; specified acids are octoic, stearic, rosin, polymerized rosin, naphthenoic, N-tallow #-amino dipropionic and succinic acids. Specified amines are NH 3 , (C 2 H 5 ) 4 NC1, substituted imidazoline alicyclic amines, N-cocomorpholine, tert-dimethyl soya amine, tallow amine dioleate, n-laurylpropylene diamine, polyethoxylated aliphatic amines, and a copolymer inter alia of laurylmethacrylate and diethyl aminoethylmethacrylate. The toner particles used in the Examples comprise (1) nigrosin, a meta-terphenyl, toluene sulphonamide and a polyquinoline, and (8) rosin/ carbon black.
