Abstract
<PICT:1076030/C3/1> Copolyesteramides are derived from (A) a diamine H2N-R1-NH2, where R1 is a C2 to C20 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical; (B) an hydroxyamine H2N-R111-OH, where R111 is a C2- 8 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical; (C) a compound R11OOC-R-COOR11 where R is a C2- 20 hydrocarbon radical and R11 is H or C1- 8 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical; and (D) polymeric fat acids containing at least 80 weight per cent dimer and, when the dimer content is below 95%, having a trimer: monomer ratio within the area ABCD of the Figure. The products may be used as adhesives for metals and may contain stabilizers, anti-oxidants, pigments or fillers. In all the examples, (A), (B) and (C) are ethylene diamine, ethanolamine and adipic acid.
