Abstract

Complexes of 1,5-dimethyl-4-dimethylamino- 2 - phenyl - 3 - isopyrazolone 8 - hydroxy-quinoline-5-sulphonate <FORM:1072359/C2/1> and aliphatic or non-aromatic cyclic polyhydroxy-amines are formed by adding the isopyrazolone derivative to aqueous solutions of the appropriate polyhydroxy-amines. Solid residues comprising the above water-soluble complexes may be obtained by lyophilization of the aqueous solutions. Specified polyhydroxy-amines are aminoglycerine, methylaminoglycerine, glucamine, methylglucamine, glucosamine, and methylglucosamine.ALSO:Medicaments useful in the treatment of rheumatism and influenza comprise a water-soluble complex of a compound having the formula <FORM:1072359/A5-A6/1> and an aliphatic or aliphatic cyclic polyhydroxy-amine. Preferred polyhydroxy-amines are aminoglycerine, methylamino-glycerine, glucamine, methylglucamine, glucosamine and methylglucosamine. The medicaments may be administered parenterally and may optionally contain antibiotics, water-soluble vitamins, hormones, or anti-inflammatory agents.
