[Also in Division B3] Hollow, pattern bodies for use in foundry moulds (see Division B3) are made from shells formed from sheets (18) of synthetic plastics material by lowering a box (19), Fig. 7 (not shown), having a bottom consisting of a rubber diaphragm (20) on to a heated sheet (18) and passing compressed air into the box so that the sheet is pressed against a pattern (17) beneath it.
