Abstract

1,068,579. Shelving. BRITISH METAL CRATES Ltd. Nov. 25, 1965 [Dec. 1, 1964], No. 48729/64. Heading A4B. A support assembly, e.g. for shelves 23 or 28, comprises uprights 10 releasably secured by pegs 17 to anchor members 12, 13 secured to or embedded in a wall 11 or other fixed structure, and cantilever brackets 14 releasably secured to the uprights 10 at a selected height by pegs 17 passed through holes in the brackets 14 and through a selected one of a series of longitudinally spaced holes 15 in the uprights 10, each bracket 14 comprising a pair of spaced strips secured together by tie members 21. The rear tie 21 abuts the front of the upright 10 to hold the bracket 14 horizontal. The bracket 14 may be reversible end for end. Shelf flanges 24 or rail heads 27 are engaged in the gap between the bracket strips which are notched 25 for supporting rails 28. The brackets 14 and shelves supported thereby are pivotable on the pegs 17 to be folded upwardly when not in use.
