Abstract

1,067,860. Hydrotherapeutic baths. JACUZZI BROS. Inc. Aug. 5, 1964 [Aug. 5, 1963], No. 31891/64. Heading A4N. [Also in Divisions B2 and F1] In a hydrotherapeutic bath, in which water is circulated through a nozzle, the nozzle and circulation intake are arranged in a housing removably mounted on the wall of a bath. As shown, housing 18 is supported by rubber suction plate 22 on wall 26 of a bath. A perforated intake grating 28 surrounds the lower part of the housing 18 and is conected to suction pipe 44 of an electrically driven centrifugal pump unit (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown). A co-axial delivery pipe 46 is connected to chamber 34 and water passing through throat 60 of nozzle 38 may entrain air from ports 64, which are connected to an adjustable air inlet (72) (Fig. 1, not shown). The nozzle is swivelably mounted in ball and socket joint 48 and the flow of water may be adjusted by screwing member 62 towards and away from fixed boss 58. A free-standing pump unit is described and the pump may be primed by connecting inlet 120 to the water supply to operate a float switch and allow the pump motor to be energized.
