Abstract

1,060,467. Solid tyres. GEORGE ANGUS & CO. Ltd. Nov. 28, 1963 [Nov. 29, 1962], No. 47021/63. Heading B7C. A resilient solid tyre comprises a radially inner annular layer of cellular elastomeric material having the same axial width as a reinforcement of fabric, thread, wire or cord wound therearound, and an outer main body 3 of cellular elastomeric material bonded to the inner layer and of a softer material than the inner layer. The entire radially inner surface of the tyre may be formed by the inner layer (2) (Fig. 2, not shown), or two inner layers 9 and reinforcements 8 may be provided axiallyspaced apart. The tyre may be wholly solid or have axially-extending cavities (7) (Fig. 2, not shown), or have blind cavities 11 circumferentially offset in opposite sidewalls.
