Abstract

1,058,209. Stud and socket fasteners. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Nov. 2, 1964 [Dec. 5, 1963], No. 48089/63. Heading E2B. A fastener formed of resilient synthetic plastics comprises a base having an integral stud projecting from one face for engaging an aperture in a support and a hollow body or bodies having means on the side walls for snap engaging opposed flanges of an article to be secured to the support. The fastener consists of a base 1 with hollowed ends with shoulders 11 for retaining a flanged trim strip moulding. The base has a hollow stud which is passed through an aperture in the support. A sharp ended peg 15 secured by a web to the base is pressed to expand the stud fingers 6 to grip the support. The base may have recesses 1a to increase the resilience of the end parts.
