Abstract

1,056,351. Seaming non-metallic sheet material. DRYTEX Ltd. Oct. 5, 1964 [July 3. 1963; June 6, 1964], Nos. 26381/63 and 23537/64. Heading B5K. [Also in Division F2] An endless conveyer belt or band for a paperdrying machine having a joint wherein loops on adjacent belt ends are linked by a transverse rod has a flap e covering the joint on one or both sides of the belt. The belt has polyester warp and metal weft threads and the end a has polyester reinforcing warps. The loops b are of heat-set polyester and the corresponding loops c are placed inwards of the other belt end, a rod f of stainless steel and/or nylon connecting the loops. The flaps e are stitched on to or woven integral with the belt or formed by an overlapping belt end d. The loops may be of metal and may as in Fig. 2 (not shown) be woven integral with the belt warp threads.
