Abstract

1,054,578. Ion-exchange. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. Nov. 30, 1965 [Nov. 12, 1964], No. 46060/64. Heading B1J. Ion-exchange resin is fed to the rotating helix 1 by the funnel 4 dipping into a supply tank at each revolution and discharged through pipe 10. Liquid to be treated is fed from reservoir 18 to an intermediate point and passes in countercurrent to the resin for discharge at 19. Scrub liquid is fed from reservoir 21 to merge with the feed solution at the centre. Resin discharged at 10 may be eluted or regenerated in a similar form of apparatus illustrated in Fig. 6 (not shown).
