Abstract
1,052,660. Pulley blocks for cranes. STOTHERT & PITT Ltd. July 1, 1965 [July 27, 1964], No. 29908/64. Heading B8B. A double load block for a tower crane or transporter may be split into single blocks 1, 2, by removing pins 7, 13. The block 1 may then be used on its own with links 5, 9 hanging vertically downwards and supporting a hook 12. Fig. 4 (not shown) illustrates the reeving system. The hoist rope 25 is made fast to the jib head and the other end passes to a winch drum over pulleys 24b, 4, 24a, 23a, 3 and 23b. When the block 1 is to be used alone the block 2 is hoisted up against the crane trolley. Guides are provided on the underside of the trolley for receiving the block 2 when the crane is used with two falls only. Means may be provided for locking the block to the trolley.
