Abstract

[Also in Division B8] A shelf distribution unit comprises a column of shelves 1 and an attendants cradle 4 which can be raised and lowered on rails 2 by a hoisting unit 5. A traversing unit 6 moves the unit on tracks 7 to and from girdering 20 or a traversing trolley 18 running between the rows of shelves. The storage shelves preferably have rails which slope downwards away from the unit towards the discharge side. Normal stackers to replenish the faces of the shelves are also described.
