Abstract

Apparatus for cleaning metal sheet 1, (Fig.3 not shown), comprises two endless chains carrying detachable brushes 2 travelling over driving and guiding means 5, 6, 7, 8 in a direction perpendicular or nearly perpendicular to the direction of travel of sheet 1 and passing through tanks 3 containing cleaning fluid 4 and air or fluid spray nozzles to enhance the cleaning effect of fluid 4. The chains may be slewable about the axes B away from the perpendicular during passage of the sheet.
