STATE OF THE ART

In recent years, consumers have had a better knowledge and awareness of the cosmetic products they use, and the naturalness or ecological impact of products have become particularly important criteria.

In 2016, French production of plastic packaging amounted to 2.2 million tonnes, including 1.2 million tonnes of household plastic packaging. At the current rate, it is estimated that in 2050, the production and incineration of plastic worldwide, packaging or not, could emit 2.8 billion tonnes of CO ₂ per year. In order to reduce the impact of plastic pollution on nature on the one hand and greenhouse gas emissions on the other, it is necessary to move away from the model of single-use plastic packaging and identify alternatives. with less impact on the environment.

Thus, alternatives such as the use of biodegradable plastics, materials that can be recycled after consumption or even reusable packaging have emerged in recent years.

The majority of cosmetic or household products consist of approximately 80% water in which a very small amount of active ingredient is mixed. Thus, an alternative to reduce the amount of plastic per packaging compared to an equivalent standard product, would be to eliminate water from the products and keep only the active raw materials. Indeed, products in concentrated or refill format, lighter and less bulky, not only reduce the quantities of plastic but also reduce the overall carbon footprint over the complete life cycle of the product and therefore meet new expectations. consumers.

We know, for example, concentrated products in the field of detergents such as detergents or dishwashing liquids. They are, however, less widespread in the field of hygiene products. We know in particular concentrated products directly ready for use or those to be diluted in order to reconstitute a ready-to-use product.

However, the use of concentrated products directly ready to use, such as shower gels or concentrated shampoos, presupposes reinforced education with consumers to encourage them not to use the same doses as for non-concentrated products. Thus, we will prefer concentrated formulas to be diluted in a predefined volume of water, allowing the reconstitution of a ready-to-use hygiene product.

For example, application WO01/40431 is known, relating to a concentrated formula to be diluted to reconstitute a product for washing the hands, comprising a mixture of surfactant, a thickening agent, a salt and a humectant. However, in the concentrate according to application WO01/40431, sufficient water must be used to keep the concentrate in solution and to maintain the viscosity below 200 Cps. It is notably mentioned that a quantity of water lower than 35% would make the formula unstable.

Thus, there is a need for a cosmetic composition concentrated in surfactants, containing a minimum of water, so as to drastically reduce the carbon impact of the cosmetic product and which, once diluted in a predefined volume of water, stored in a reusable container, results in a ready-to-use cosmetic composition, suitable, in particular, for cleaning keratin fibers such as the skin of the face and/or of the body and/or of the hair.

The present invention therefore aims to provide a concentrated, liquid and homogeneous cosmetic composition, to be diluted in a predefined volume of water, comprising at least one surfactant; at least one preservative; optionally, at least one thickening agent; and a cosmetically acceptable solvent.

Advantageously, when at least one thickening agent is present in the concentrated cosmetic composition, then the composition comprises less than 30% water by weight relative to the total weight of the composition, without altering the stability.

Another advantage is that the concentrated cosmetic composition according to the present invention allows, after dilution in a predefined volume of water, the reconstitution of a ready-to-use cosmetic composition, that is to say not requiring the addition of ingredients other than the volume of water necessary for diluting the concentrated cosmetic composition, in the form of a gel or an aqueous fluid, suitable for cleaning keratin fibers such as the skin and the hair.

Yet another advantage is that the ready-to-use cosmetic composition obtained by diluting the concentrated cosmetic composition according to the present invention has similar performance to an equivalent standard product, in terms of quality, foam height and stability, the performances not being affected regardless of the quality of the water used to dilute the concentrated cosmetic composition.

Yet another advantage is that the ready-to-use cosmetic composition according to the invention can be stored and used just like a conventional cosmetic product with a use-by date greater than one month, preferably greater than 24 months.

SUMMARY

The invention relates to a liquid and homogeneous concentrated cosmetic composition, to be diluted, comprising:

• from 5% to 80% of at least one surfactant;
• from 0.1% to 30% of at least one preservative;
• from 0.0% to 30% of at least one aqueous-phase thickening and/or gelling agent; And
• from 10% to 60% of a cosmetically acceptable solvent chosen from water or a mixture of water and at least one water-soluble organic solvent,

wherein, when at least one aqueous-phase thickening and/or gelling agent is present, then said composition comprises less than 30% water by weight relative to the total weight of the composition, and

in which, when said composition does not comprise at least one aqueous-phase thickening and/or gelling agent, then said composition comprises less than 60% water by weight relative to the total weight of the composition,

the percentages being expressed by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.

According to one embodiment, said at least one surfactant is chosen from anionic surfactants, nonionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, cationic surfactants or a mixture thereof.

According to one embodiment, said at least one preservative is chosen from organic acids or one of their salts; glycol ethers; halogenated preservatives; aldehydes; alcohols; cationic agents; essential oils ; natural or synthetic antioxidants; organic or inorganic UV filters; or a mixture of these.

According to one embodiment, said at least one water-soluble organic solvent is chosen from monoalcohols and polyols such as ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, propyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, phenylethyl, glycerin; glycols or glycol ethers such as ethylene glycol monomethyl, monoethyl and monobutyl ethers, propylene glycol or its ethers such as propylene glycol monomethyl ether, butylene glycol, hexylene glycol, dipropylene glycol as well as alkyl ethers of diethylene glycol such as monoethyl ether or monobutyl ether of diethylene glycol; or a mixture of these.

The present invention also relates to a kit for preparing a ready-to-use cosmetic composition according to the invention, comprising a first container, comprising a concentrated cosmetic composition according to the invention and a second container intended to receive a volume of water necessary to the dilution of the concentrated cosmetic composition.

The terms "aqueous phase gelling agent" and "aqueous phase thickening agent" relate to ingredients capable of modifying the rheology and/or increasing the viscosity of a liquid aqueous composition. The “aqueous-phase gelling agent” and/or “aqueous-phase thickener” are of terrestrial vegetable (carob), marine vegetable (alginate), animal (gelatin), biofermentative (xanthan), mineral (silica, salts), synthetic (carbomer), and all confer specific sensory characteristics that can be combined by associating them in the composition. Non-exhaustively, the thickening agents can also include all combinations of raw materials making it possible to increase the viscosity of the aqueous system, such as combinations of surfactants. The term "preservative agent" concerns any substance capable of opposing alterations of physical origin such as photodegradation or otherwise called UV filters; chemicals such as transformation by oxidation-reduction reaction with air, a component or a container or otherwise called an antioxidant agent; or microbiological effects of a product such as spoilage by bacteria and fungi or otherwise called antimicrobial agents. Concentrated liquid and homogeneous cosmetic composition, to be diluted, comprising:

• from 5% to 80% of at least one surfactant;
• from 0.1% to 30% of at least one preservative;
• from 0.0% to 30% of at least one aqueous-phase thickening and/or gelling agent; And
• from 10% to 60% of a cosmetically acceptable solvent chosen from water or a mixture of water and at least one water-soluble organic solvent,

wherein, when at least one aqueous-phase thickening and/or gelling agent is present, then said composition comprises less than 30% water by weight relative to the total weight of the composition, and
in which, when said composition does not comprise at least one aqueous-phase thickening and/or gelling agent, then said composition comprises less than 60% water by weight relative to the total weight of the composition,
the percentages being expressed by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.
