The present invention relates to a piece of furniture with a seat, the seat of which is movable along two non-vertical axes of articulation.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Many chairs include a back that can recline to improve user comfort. Some wheelchairs also combine vibration means to massage the user and give him a feeling of relaxation.

Such chairs can thus be found in public places such as airports or stations but also in private homes.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

An object of the invention is to provide an improved alternative to the seating furniture of the prior art.

With a view to achieving this object, a piece of furniture is proposed comprising a seat supported by a base by means of articulation means of the seat on the base.

According to the invention, the articulation means are arranged to allow movement of the seat around two non-vertical axes.

In this way, the relative position of the seat in relation to the base can be modified around two non-vertical axes. A user can thus be moved easily into different positions. In addition, under the effect of gravity, the movements of the seat naturally massage the user.

Depending on the sequences of movements chosen, the piece of furniture offers great possibilities for relaxation, rejuvenation, stimulation... to the user.

Seated furniture means furniture whose main function is to allow a user to sit down or lie down, the seat furniture comprising in particular a backrest (inclined or horizontal) against which the user leans his back.

A seated piece of furniture within the meaning of the invention is for example a cradle, a bed or even an armchair...Optionally, the two axes are substantially horizontal.

Optionally, the two axes are substantially orthogonal.

Optionally, the piece of furniture comprises means for actuating the seat around these two axes, the actuating means being connected to a control unit to obtain at least one combined movement of the seat around these two axes.

It is thus possible to provide an orbital movement to the user.

Optionally, the means of articulation ensure movement of the seat in a given volume defined by a dome.

This reinforces the orbital movement aspect.

This dome can be immaterial or real. In the latter case, the piece of furniture comprises a cap forming said dome and inside which the articulation means can be arranged at least in part. If the means of articulation comprise two hoops, at least one of the hoops will be arranged in the cap.

Optionally the dome has a center arranged above the seat.

Optionally the piece of furniture comprises at least one sensor arranged to detect a state and/or a physiological response of a user of the piece of furniture.

Optionally the sensor is a weight sensor.

Optionally the sensor is a muscle sensor.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference to the , and according to a first embodiment of the invention, the piece of furniture here is an armchair 1 which comprises a seat 2 carried by a base 3 via means of articulation 4 of the seat 2 on the base 3.

The base 3 has at least one foot resting on the ground. Here the base 3 has two resting feet 5, 6 each formed of a bar resting on the ground, the two bars being parallel to each other. A third bar 7 of the base extends transversely between the two rest feet 5, 6 to secure them together.

The base 3 also comprises an arm 8 extending straight from the third bar in the direction of the seat 2. The base 3 is here shaped so that the arm 8 extends along a substantially vertical third axis Z.

The base 3 is for example made of metal.

The seat 2 has both a backrest 9 and a seat 10.

A user can therefore sit or lie down in the chair 1, his back being supported by the backrest 9 and his legs supported, at least in part, by the seat 10.

Preferably, the seat 2 is also wide enough for the user to be able to rest his arms on the seat 2 while extending them along his body.

The backrest 9 and the seat 10 are preferably in one piece.

The seat 2 is here formed of a single shell coated at least on the face intended to receive the user with a flexible material such as for example foam.

Preferably, the angle formed inside the seat 2 between the backrest 9 and the seat 10 (also called seat angle) is between 125 and 130 degrees and is preferably 127 degrees.

We will now focus on describing the means of articulation 4.

According to the invention, the means of articulation 4 are arranged to allow movement of the seat 2 around two non-vertical axes X, Y.

The two axes X, Y are orthogonal to each other.

Preferably, the two axes X, Y are substantially horizontal. In reality, the two axes X, Y are here substantially orthogonal to the third axis Z.

The articulation means 4 are also shaped so that the first axis X corresponds substantially to the pitch axis of the seat 2 and the second axis Y to the roll axis of the seat 2.

Optionally the chair 1 is configured to ensure movements of the seat 2 with an amplitude between 0 and 90 degrees along the first axis X and between 0 and 90 degrees along the second axis Y.

The armchair 1 is here shaped so that the second axis Y is substantially parallel to the axis along which the rectilinear resting feet 5, 6 of the base 3 extend.

The articulation means 4 are also shaped to allow movement of the seat 2 in a combined manner around the first axis X and the second axis Y.

The armchair 1 can thus move the user according to an orbital movement.

This turns out to be relaxing, stimulating, rejuvenating… depending on the sequence of movements chosen.

In the present case, the means of articulation 4 do not allow movement of the seat 2 around the third axis Z.

Seat 2 is therefore only movable in the orbital plane.

Optionally, the articulation means 4 are arranged so as to move the seat 2 only in a geometric volume which is substantially dome-shaped and for example along the outer surface of said geometric volume.

The dome is centered on the arm 8 and therefore here coaxial with the third axis Z.

The curved part of the dome is here turned towards the base 3.

The center C of the dome belongs in this case to the third axis Z and is located above the seat 2.

The movements of the seat 2 can thus take place in a concave surface.

The dome here is substantially hemispherical.

In the present case, the means of articulation 4 are themselves arranged in this geometric volume in the shape of a dome.

Optionally, the articulation means 4 comprise a first gutter which is mounted on the arm 8 at the level of the free end of the said arm 8 and in a manner centered vis-à-vis the said arm 8. The first gutter is here fixed on the said arm 8 so that the first gutter and the arm 8 are integral with each other.

The articulation means correspondingly comprise a first carriage (not shown here) connected to the seat 2 and slidably mounted in the first gutter so that a translation of the first carriage in the first gutter causes a rotation of the seat 2 around the first X axis.

Indeed the first carriage comprises in the lower part a first hoop 11 sliding in the first gutter. Said portion is more particularly shaped so as to have the same center of curvature C as the contour of the aforementioned geometric volume. In the present case, the first arch 11 extends so that a projection of said first arch 11 on the ground extends between the two rest feet 5, 6 of the base 3 and substantially parallel to said rest feet 5, 6 .

The first carriage itself forms in its upper part a second gutter.

The articulation means correspondingly comprise a second carriage (whose representation has been simplified) which is this time fixed to the seat 2. The second carriage and the seat 2 therefore form a unitary assembly in the present case. The second carriage is slidably mounted in the second gutter so that a translation of the second carriage in the second gutter causes the seat 2 to rotate around the second axis Y.

Indeed, the second carriage comprises in its upper part a second hoop 12, portion of the second carriage fixed to the seat 2. The center C of curvature of the second hoop 12 is the same as that 11 of the first carriage.

From the outside, the chair therefore has two arches 11, 12 arranged at 90 degrees to each other. The arm 8 stops here at the first hoop 11.

The two arches 11, 12 are for example made of metal.

The two arches 11, 12 form circular arcs of substantially 180 degrees.

The first gutter – first carriage assembly ensures the rotation of the seat 2 along the first axis X, that is to say the pitching of the seat and the second gutter – second carriage assembly ensures the rotation of the seat 2 along the second axis Y, that is to say the roll of the seat 2. The two sets are arranged substantially at 90 degrees from each other, the first set under the second set.

The movements of seat 2 are therefore inscribed in the hemispherical dome whose center C is located above seat 2.

Thus installed in his chair 1, the user can feel rolling and pitching movements in a concave position. Armchair 1 can move the user according to an orbital movement which is relaxing, stimulating, rejuvenating… depending on the sequence of movements chosen.

Preferably, the chair 1 comprises automatic actuation means of the two sets.

To this end, the actuating means comprise a first actuating device of the first set and a second actuating device of the second set.

The first device comprises a first motor and a first pulley-belt group. Typically, a belt is connected at a first end to the pulley secured in rotation to the output shaft of the first motor, and at a second end to a pulley secured to the first carriage and typically to the first hoop 11 of the first carriage so that a rotation of the first motor causes the first hoop 11 to slide in the corresponding gutter and therefore the seat 2 to pivot around the first axis X. The first device is also shaped to ensure the seat 2 pivots around the first X axis in both directions of rotation.

The first motor is here offset and arranged at the level of the rest feet 5, 6 of the base 3.

The second device comprises a second motor and a second pulley-belt group. Typically, a belt is connected at a first end to the pulley secured in rotation to the output shaft of the second motor, and at a second end to a pulley secured to the second carriage and typically to the second hoop 12 of the second carriage so that rotation of the second motor causes the second hoop 12 to slide in the corresponding gutter and therefore the seat 2 to pivot around the second axis Y. The second device is also shaped to ensure the seat 2 pivots around the second Y axis in both directions of rotation.

The second motor is here arranged at the level of the first hoop 11.

The second device is therefore entirely arranged in the geometric volume in the shape of a dome.

Optionally the chair 1 comprises means for powering the chair 1 in order to make it autonomous (for example the power supply means comprise one or more batteries arranged in the chair 1). As a replacement or in addition, the chair 1 comprises at least one connection port to an external power source of the mains type.

Preferably, the chair 1 comprises at least one chair control unit and in particular actuating means. The unit is for example a calculator, a computer, a microcontroller, etc. The unit is arranged in the chair 1 or is remote from the body of the chair 1 while being in communication with said body of the chair 1. Communication with the unit can be done in a wired or non-wired way (via wifi, Bluetooth, etc.).

The unit is configured to control the movements of the seat 2 along the first axis X and/or the second axis Y.

The unit can thus position the seat 2 according to different lateral positions and/or more or less inclined positions. Preferably, the seat 2 cannot be tilted lower than a position substantially corresponding to the seated position of the user.

The seat 2 can for example, and in a non-limiting way, be brought into six distinct main positions:

• A first position 21 called neutral position (the user is substantially in a seated position with the feet on the ground and the right pelvis)
• A second position 22 called the central semi-recumbent position (the user is substantially in the semi-recumbent position and the pelvis straight),
• A third position 23 called the central three-quarters position (the user is substantially in a three-quarters lengthened position and the pelvis is right),
• A fourth position 24 called the central lying position (the user is substantially in the lying position and the pelvis straight),
• A fifth position 25 called the lying position inclined to the right (the user is substantially in the lying position and the body inclined towards his right), and
• A sixth position 26 called the lying position inclined to the left (the user is substantially in the lying position and the body inclined towards his left).

The unit can also control a sequence of movements of the seat 2: oscillations and/or rockings and/or general trajectories. A distinction is made here between oscillations and rockings: both oscillations and rockings correspond to rotations around the first X axis or the second Y axis, however the oscillations have a lower amplitude of movement than that of the rockings. In a non-limiting way, the oscillations have an amplitude of a few millimeters and the rocking an amplitude of at least a few centimeters.

In particular, the unit can control the armchair 1 so that the seat 2 follows an overall trajectory while performing oscillating and/or rocking movements during the trajectory with possible pauses at the level of the trajectory and /or oscillations and/or rocking.

The unit can therefore control in particular both the realization of a general movement combined with movements of lesser scope (rocking and/or oscillation).

The unit can also control various amplitudes of oscillations and/or rocking and/or various trajectories as well.

The armchair 1 thus ensures an overall movement of the seat 2 inscribed here in a sphere with sequences of rockings and/or oscillations and/or trajectories.

Furthermore, the unit is configured to be able to control, if necessary, movements to the seat 2 at different frequencies and/or different speeds. The unit can for example command a movement of the seat 2 at a speed of between 0.005 and 25 millimeters/second and/or command an oscillation and/or rocking of the seat 2 at a frequency of between 0.2 and 0.3 Hertz.

From then on, the unit can also control a wider range of movement sequences with the possibility of acceleration and/or deceleration on the overall trajectory and/or in the rocking and/or in the oscillations. Each movement (trajectory, oscillation, rocking) can therefore be continuous or discontinuous with pauses or not and variable speeds or frequencies or not.

The unit can also combine sequences of continuous movements, various trajectories (linear, circular, spiral…), oscillations, rockings, pauses, decelerations, accelerations… with amplitudes, durations, speeds, variable frequencies.

With reference to FIGS. 2a and 2b, examples of sequences of movements will be given without limitation.

With reference to the , and according to a first sequence, the unit controls the seat 2 so that it follows a general arcuate trajectory going from the fifth position 25 to the sixth position 26 via the fourth position 24 and vice versa. The passage between the fifth position 25 and the sixth position 26 is symbolized by dots: each dot optionally corresponds to one or more pause(s) and/or oscillation(s) and/or rocking(s).

With reference to the , and according to a second sequence, the unit controls the seat 2 so that it follows a general spiral trajectory passing successively through the second position 22, the third position 23, the first position 21, the fifth position 25, the fourth position 24, the sixth position 26, the first position 21, the third position 23 and the second position 22 and so on or vice versa. The passage between these different positions is symbolized by dots: each dot optionally corresponds to one or more pause(s) and/or oscillation(s) and/or rocking(s).

Preferably, the chair 1 includes at least one sensor connected to the unit to control the chair 1. The sensor is for example a sensor capable of detecting a state and/or a physiological response of the user.

According to a first variant, the sensor is a weight sensor. The unit typically adapts the sequences of movements to the weight of the user, for example by adapting the speed of the movements. As a replacement or in addition, the unit locks seat 2 to base 3 if no presence is detected in seat 2 by the weight sensor.

The vibrations intensify the massage naturally created by the movements of the seat 2 but also facilitate blood circulation, relaxation, stimulation, rejuvenation... and this in general or on targeted areas of the user's body.

According to a particular embodiment, the chair 1 comprises at least one massager system with massage heads.

This reinforces the massage naturally created by the movements of the seat 2.

Said system comprises for this purpose at least one and preferably several massage heads arranged in the seat 2. Each massage head is for example shaped as a blade which can be lowered or raised according to the pressures exerted by the patient's body. on the seat. All means of articulation may be housed in the cap and not partially offset in the base. As a variant, all the motors could be arranged in the base.

The base and the cap may be in one piece or may be two separate pieces fixed to each other or movable relative to each other. For example, the cap can be mounted on the base using bearings.

The base may be part of the base or even constitute the base.

The piece of furniture may include a complementary system other than those described as a system providing biological feedback (better known by the English term bio-feedback) whether it is of a neuronal, cardiac, myocardial nature, or even a visual stimulation system allowing for example to diffuse colored light (by using at least one colored filter and/or at least one LED lamp for example) or even an electrotherapy system such as a device delivering pulsed electromagnetic waves... In the case of an electrotherapy system, this will preferably be at least arranged at the level of the area of the seat intended to receive the user's pelvis.

The control unit may also be different from what has been indicated and, for example, be incorporated into a user's mobile phone.

The mobile telephone may thus include an application allowing the actuation of the means of articulation and/or the various complementary systems of the furniture with optional integration of a follow-up of use, indication of sessions, session themes, follow-up of the tests, physical and/or physiological performance, health data, programming of alarms (sound or vibrator), reminders, association with other applications (such as health applications) and/or other connected objects (such as connected objects related to health). The piece of furniture may thus include (for example at the level of its base) a two-dimensional barcode allowing its activation by mobile telephone (Flashcode type, registered trademark, or QR code).

The control unit may be incorporated into a connected object other than a mobile phone such as a watch, a bracelet, a tablet, etc. The control unit may not be part of the furniture.

The piece of furniture may also incorporate one or more additional connected objects interacting with the piece of furniture such as a watch, a bracelet, a mobile phone, a tablet... but also an audio headset and/or glasses optionally in wired or wireless connection with the unit … We can thus have a helmet incorporating both the audio aspect and the visual aspect, such as a Kasina helmet (registered trademark). It is possible, for example, to carry out a hypno-simulation using such a helmet. In general, the connected object and/or the audio system incorporated into the body of the furniture can fulfill a calming or stimulating function.

The cabinet may include one or more connection ports for objects external to the body of the cabinet (USB port, Jack port, etc.). In particular, the headset used in the cabinet may be that of the user, the cabinet incorporating communication functions with the headset to provide the targeted auditory sequence (for example jack port, wireless connection, etc.).

The sensors may also be different from what has been indicated. Thus other sensors than those indicated could be used, such as for example at least one biological feedback sensor to perform, for example, an evaluation of the user or even a sensor of loss of vigilance, a pressure sensor, a presence sensor , a body mass index sensor, a biochemical sensor, a biophysical sensor, a sensor for measuring pulse, muscle tension, neural activity, eye movements, respiratory movements, oximetry, blood pressure, l skin acidity of a user…

The furniture can also provide data feedback to the user, such as the neural and/or cardiac components of the user.

The piece of furniture may include one or more additional elements than what has been indicated. For example, the furniture may include one or more belts or any other safety harness to prevent the user from slipping on the seat. The piece of furniture may include a headrest, adjustable or not in position, a legrest, adjustable or not in position, etc.

The piece of furniture may also include a support for charging a mobile phone, a sensor for the presence of the mobile phone on the support, an alarm for the presence of the telephone on the support which is triggered if the sensor of the furniture no longer detects the presence of the user on the furniture for a predetermined time (in order to avoid forgetting the mobile phone for example)... The charging support can be retractable in the furniture and extractable by simply pressing on one side of the support. The load support can be arranged laterally in the cabinet. Recharging the mobile phone can be automatic, for example if the user has selected it on his mobile.

Claims (10)

Furniture comprising a seat (2, 102) carried by a base (3) by means of articulation means (4) of the seat on the base, the furniture being characterized in that the articulation means are arranged to allow movement of the seat around at least two non-vertical axes, the piece of furniture comprising at least one sensor arranged to detect a state and/or a physiological response of a user of the piece of furniture. Furniture according to claim 1, in which the two axes are substantially horizontal. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, in which the two axes are substantially orthogonal. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, comprising means for actuating the seat (2, 102) around these two axes, the actuating means being connected to a control unit to obtain at least one movement of the seat combined around these two axes. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, in which the articulation means provide movement of the seat (2, 102) in a given volume defined by a dome. Furniture according to claim 5, in which the dome has a center arranged above the seat. Furniture according to claim 1, in which the sensor is a weight sensor. Furniture according to claim 1, in which the sensor is a muscle sensor. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims comprising at least one system chosen from one of the following systems: a vibration massage system, a massage head massage system, a heating system, an audio system. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, in which the seat angle of the seat is between 125 and 130 degrees.
