Cap intended to equip a cosmetic product refill

The invention generally relates to rechargeable cosmetic product packaging devices.

Such rechargeable devices can be make-up cases, for example for making up face surfaces such as the eyelids, cheekbones or lips.

The makeup product is in particular a foundation, a blush, an eyeshadow or a lipstick, a lip gloss or a lip balm.

By “cosmetic product” is meant within the meaning of the present invention, a cosmetic product intended to be applied to a human being, such as for example a solid such as a powder, a liquid or a cream. A “cosmetic product” is more generally a product as defined in Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, dated November 30, 2009, relating to cosmetic products.

According to the invention, the cosmetic product can be impregnated on a support, for example on a foam or a sponge.

There are known cosmetic product packaging devices having a covering shell and a cosmetic product refill configured to be received in the covering shell. The refill comprises means of attachment to the covering shell.

Several types of refills have already been proposed.

Patent FR 2 755 837 describes a refill with a cover.

Patent FR 2 786 076 describes a refill comprising a first wall, radially internal, delimiting a chamber for receiving the cosmetic composition and a second wall, radially external, for applying hermetic sealing means to the container of the refill.

Patent application EP2308339 describes a refill comprising:

- a hollow body intended to contain the cosmetic product,

- means for fixing the hollow body to the covering shell,

- a frangible zone, configured to allow detachment at least in part of said fixing means of the hollow body under the effect of a traction exerted by a user on said fixing means, the frangible zone extending in a discrete or continuous manner the periphery of the hollow body perpendicular to the axis of the refill.

However, the known refills do not yet ensure a completely perfect seal of the cosmetic product, in particular when the refill has a bottom containing the product and a cover connected to the bottom only by a hinge, such as for example the refill described in W02016 / 083607.

There is a need to improve the refills of cosmetic product, in particular make-up and care product, to make them more waterproof.

There is also a need to benefit from tamper-evident refills, that is to say that the first opening of the refill causes an irreversible change in its appearance so that it is immediately visible, thereafter, that the refill has already been open.

There is also a need to offer refills:

- easy to open by the user,

- inexpensive and simple to manufacture,

- with a small footprint.

Definition of the invention

The subject of the invention is an X-axis cap intended to be assembled on a cosmetic product refill, the cap comprising a hollow body and at least one Z-axis gripping tab connected to the hollow body by at least one breakable zone, the cap being provided internally with at least one relief relief capable of coming to engage in a relief relief complementary to the refill and the axis Z of the gripping tongue extends at least in part over a height of a side wall of the cap, and the relief of retention of the cap is designed to disengage at least partially from the relief of retention complementary to the refill under the effect of a traction exerted on the gripping tab during a first use.

A main advantage of the cap according to the invention is to keep the refill closed to make it waterproof outside of a makeup case. This advantage is particularly advantageous for a refill with hinge and elastically deformable side wall as described in W02016 / 083607.

For such a refill with an elastically deformable wall, the cap according to the invention can be clipped onto the refill and keep the side wall crushed to guarantee sealing.

The cap according to the invention has the particularity of maintaining the "joint" plate to guarantee sealing during storage and transport. The cap is disposable after opening

The manufacture of the cap is simple, with a fine breakable zone to allow separation with the refill.

Due to the particular positioning of the Z axis of the tongue, it is easy to remove by the user, while ensuring a good seal.

The invention also relates to a waterproof cosmetic refill comprising a cap as defined above assembled on a refill of cosmetic product.

If the tab has not been removed, the user is certain that the refill has not been used and that it still contains the entire product as packaged by the manufacturer. On the other hand, the fracture or the tearing of the tongue means that the cap could have been separated from the refill and that it could have been subjected to a previous use.

The waterproof refill according to the invention is inviolable.

The invention also relates to a cosmetic process comprising the steps consisting in:

- provide a waterproof cosmetic refill as defined above,

- grasp the grip tab between two fingers,

- exert traction on the gripping tab;

- possibly grasp the cap with one hand and refill it with the other hand to move them away from each other to separate them and have access to the cosmetic product.

Main definitions

"Axis A" means the longitudinal axis A.

A "cross section of an A-axis part" is a section perpendicular to the A-axis of the part.

By “longitudinal axis of the gripping tongue, is meant the line joining all of the barycenters of the transverse sections of the tongue.

"The Z axis of the gripping tab extends at least in part over a height of a side wall of the cap" means that the Z axis of the tongue extends over at least a portion of the side wall in being parallel or oblique to the X axis of the cap.

The term "tongue" is interpreted broadly and includes the legs, bands, blades or slats.

"The relief of retention of the cap disengages at least partially from the relief of retention complementary to the refill" means that the reliefs of retention of the cap and of the refill can deviate, come off, deform, bend or become bend at least in part. Thus, the user can completely detach the cap and the refill and have access to the product.

Preferred embodiments

Preferably, the device according to the invention has one or more of the following characteristics, taken alone or in combination:

The Z axis of the gripping tab extends over the entire height of the side wall of the cover. The tab is even easier to grip.

The Z axis of the gripping tab extends at least in part over a top wall of the cover. The opening of the cap provides better clearance of the refill.

The breakable zone is a zone of lesser thickness comprising a line of lesser thickness and / or a plurality of bridges of material separated from each other by through openings or by regions of lesser thickness. It is simple to make.

The gripping tab is separated from the body of the cap by at least one slot. This design limits the effort required for the user.

The hollow body, the gripping tab and the breakable area have all come together. Production costs are reduced.

The Z axis of the gripping tab is located in a median plane of the cap. The cap opens in two symmetrical, visually pleasing portions.

The refill comprises a base internally defining a storage compartment and a plate mounted mobile in rotation on the base along an axis Y of a hinge, said plate being mobile between a closed configuration, in which it closes the storage compartment, and an open configuration in which the storage compartment is accessible. The product is protected by the tray and the cap which keeps the refill in the closed position.

A housing is provided in the tray and intended to receive a second cosmetic article, said housing comprising a bottom and a side wall, said side wall being able to deform elastically. The seal is improved by the elastic wall serving as a seal.

The device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a cap 3 assembled to a refill 5.

The cap can be made of plastic, for example HDPE or ABS.

The cover 3 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a hollow body 44 and a gripping tab 14 of axis Z. It defines an internal volume 17, delimited by a flat top wall 19 and by a cylindrical side wall 21 of X axis.

The Z axis of the gripping tab 14 extends parallel to the X axis of the cover over the entire height of the side wall 19.

The gripping tab 14 is axially delimited by two longitudinal slots 71 and 72. It is connected to the hollow body 44 by a zone of lesser thickness 96 situated on the peripheral edge 145 of the top wall 19.

The gripping tab 14 and the thinner zone 96 have come integrally with the body 44 of the cover 3.

The side wall 21 has internally a snap bead 111 extending in a plane perpendicular to the axis X and capable of coming into engagement with a complementary relief of the refill 5.

The external face of the top wall 19 has a peripheral shoulder 75 connecting the top wall 19 to the side wall 21 and forming a peripheral stop on the internal face of the top wall 19. This stop is designed to bear against the complementary relief of the refill 5 in order to limit its axial displacement.

The refill 5 is composed of a base 12 and a plate 16 movable in rotation relative to the base 12 around the axis Y of a hinge.

The base 12 delimits a central cavity 25 defined by a flat bottom 66 and by a lower cylindrical side wall 27 and an upper cylindrical side wall 31 connected together by a shoulder 30. The central cavity 25 defines a compartment 28, intended to receive a first cosmetic product. The upper cylindrical wall 31 is extended radially outward from its upper end by a flange 45 extending below by an annular flange 46 of axis X.

The plate 16 comprises a central housing 37 opening onto a flat part 36 and intended to receive a second cosmetic article. The central housing 37 has a flat bottom 38 connected to the flat part 36 by a side wall 40, which is elastically deformable.

The side wall 40 is preferably formed of an elastically deformable material, such as for example a thermoplastic elastomer such as SEBS, or a nitrile rubber (NBR), or a silicone. It is for example overmolded on the bottom 38 and then assembled with the flat part 36.

Outside the side wall 40, the base and the refill can be made of thermoplastic materials, in particular produced with ABS or PET / PETG.

The side wall 40 is able to deform elastically by increasing in diameter under the effect of a bringing together of the flat part 36 and the flange 45, so as to come into contact with the side wall 31 of the base 12. It thus has the function of a seal in the closed position of the plate 16 on the base 12.

However, since the refill 5 does not have a clasp, the plate 16 tends to lift relative to the base 12 on the side opposite the hinge. Indeed, the elastically deformable side wall 40 relaxes axially and exerts pressure on the flat part 36 which moves the plate 16 away from the base 12 at least locally.

A major advantage of the cap 3 is to maintain the refill 5 in the closed position by making contact between the flat part 36 and the flange 45 around the entire periphery of the refill 5.

To put the cap 3 on the refill 5, the cap 3 is slammed along the axis X in the direction of the refill as shown in Figure 1. When the cap 3 is in place, the snap cord 111 s 'crushes against the annular rim 46. Once the rim 46 passed, the snap bead 111 resumes, thanks to its elasticity, its initial configuration as shown in Figure 2 and irreversibly locks the cap on the refill.

To remove the cap 3, the user pulls on the free end of the gripping tab 14 as shown in FIG. 2. When the tensile force exerted by the user exceeds the tear resistance force of the zone of least thickness 96, there is a rupture of the tongue 14. The user can then exert a manual tensile force along the axis X on the side wall 21 of the cap 3 in the opposite direction of the refill 5 in order to fully disengage the annular rim 46 of the snap cord 111.

By way of illustration, a second refill example is shown in FIG. 13. This figure shows the hinge 122 connecting the plate 16 to the base 12.

Figures 4 to 12 show a second example of a cap according to the invention.

The cover 3 comprises a top wall 19 connected to a cylindrical side wall 21. Three gripping tabs 14, 141, 142 with axes Z, Z 'and Z ”parallel to the axis X of the cover 3 are regularly distributed around of the X axis.

The diameter of the cap 3 is advantageously between 2 cm and 5 cm and more advantageously between 3 cm and 4 cm.

The height of the side wall 21 is advantageously between 1 cm and 3.5 cm, and more advantageously between 1.5 cm and 2 cm.

Each gripping tab 14, 141, 142 is preferably contained in a sector of angular extent between 30 ° and 60 °, and more preferably close to 45 ° around the axis X.

Each gripping tab 14, 141, 142 comprises, for example at mid-height of its internal face, a clipping notch 80, 81 and 82 respectively perpendicular to the axis Z, Z ’and Z”. Each notch is engaged in a complementary relief of a refill 5 before the first use thereof.

Each gripping tab 14, 141, 142 is delimited respectively by:

- two lateral slots 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95 parallel to the axis of the gripping tab and preferably contained in a sector of angular extent comprised between 2 ° and 5 °, and more preferably close to 3 ° around the X axis.

- a zone of lesser thickness 96, 97, 98 located at the junction between each gripping tab and the top wall 19.

Each thinner zone can comprise two fine zones 961, 962 and a thicker zone 963 as shown in FIG. 6.

To remove the cap 3 from a refill 5, the user raises the gripping tabs 14, 141, 142 in the direction of the arrow in order to start disengaging the clipping notches of the complementary reliefs of the refill 5. He then dismisses the refill 5 of the cap 3 to completely release the clipping notches and have access to the refill 5.

Figures 13 to 18 show a third example of cap 3 according to the invention. In this example, the cross section of the cap 3 is a square with a width of 7 cm. The cover 3 comprises a single gripping tab 14 whose axis Z is located in a median plane of the cover 3. The axis Z extends over the entire height of the side wall 21 and extends over the entire width of the top wall 19.

The gripping tab 14 is delimited axially by two thin lines 960 and 961 parallel to the axis Z and is internally provided with a catch notch 85 located at the front of the tab.

Advantageously, the width of the gripping tab 14 is between 5 cm and 2.5 cm and preferably between 1 cm and 1.5 cm.

The side wall 21 is internally provided with:

- two snap notches 81 and 82 formed halfway up the lateral face 210,

- two snap notches 83 and 84 formed halfway up the lateral face 212 opposite the lateral face 201,

- a catch notch 80 formed halfway up the bottom side face 211, thicker than the catch notches 81, 82, 83 and 84.

The positioning, the structure and the thickness of the catch notches are adapted to the configuration of the refill 5 on which the cap 3 is snapped.

To remove the cap 3 from a refill 5, the user lifts the gripping tab 14 in the direction of the arrow indicated in FIG. 13. He tears the two thinner lines 960 and 961, preferably over their whole extent. It first releases the snap notch 85. The cap 3 remains on the refill 5, partially retained in the axial position by the engagement of the other snap notches and their complementary reliefs. To access the refill 5, the user can pull on the cover 3 and on the refill 5 in the opposite direction and then make the reliefs of the refill 5 pass through the snap notches of the cover 3 before being able to fully release the cover 3 recharge 5.

1.
