Abstract
Description
Ladite coque et ledit tapis de selle comportent des moyens de fixation coopérant. equidae comprising at least one saddle pad and a device cooperating with said mat. It has long been sought to reduce, if not eliminate, the friction of the saddlery with the withers of horses. Different means were used, and in particular the front of the saddle was formed so as not to come into contact with the withers. The widespread use of a fabric seat saddle, substantially rectangular in shape and covering the dorsal portion of the withers at the rump, eventually produces more or less serious injuries in the first dorsal vertebrae. In order to mitigate these disadvantages, some mats have, along their longitudinal axis and at the front, a concave curved portion which is positioned above the withers by attenuating the friction. When using such carpets, however, there is a collapse of the front part, and consequently a contact with the withers. The invention aims to permanently eliminate these disadvantages by releasing the tourniquet of traumatic contacts with the saddle pad. The protection assembly, which is the subject of the invention, is remarkable in that it consists of a half-conical half-conical semi-rigid shell designed to overcome without contact the tourniquet of the equine, and a saddle pad. Said hull and said seat mat comprise cooperating fastening means.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the seat belt comprises along its longitudinal axis a slot of length substantially equal to the length of the shell.
According to another embodiment, said protection assembly is remarkable in that the outer front ends of the semi-rigid shell carry saddle stop attachment means.
The explanations and figures given below as exemplary embodiments will better understand the invention. Figure 1 is a side view of the protection assembly.
Figure 2 is an exploded side view of the components of the protection assembly. Figure 3 is a front view of the assembly partly broken away. FIG. 1 shows the protection assembly of the equine tourniquet 15 according to an embodiment comprising a device consisting of a semi-rigid hull (1) and a saddle cloth (2). These elements are provided with reciprocal fastening means not visible in this figure. Figure 2 shows the components (1) and (2) disassembled. The semi-rigid hull (1) has the shape of a substantially conical half-tunnel, as shown in Figures 1 and 3. The lateral edges (3) and (4) are supported by means of the carpet (2). ) on either side of the apophyses of the vertebrae forming the tourniquet. The height of the half-tunnel is such that the bottom of the shell (5) does not touch the ends of the apophyses, thus avoiding any friction and, therefore, any risk of injury. The shell (1) is housed, at least partially, in the front portion of the saddle (not shown) and incidentally provides protection by avoiding that the saddle screws are directly on the carpet. According to one embodiment, the shell is molded in a semi-rigid synthetic foam, and can receive a synthetic or natural leather clothing. The inner part of the shell (FIGS. 2 and 3) carries fast fastening means (6). ) arranged according to the inner front edges of the shell and according to the outer lateral edges cooperating with means (7) provided inside the front edges of the mat, and (8) on a portion of the longitudinal axis of said mat. According to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the belt (2) comprises along its longitudinal axis a slot (9) of length substantially equal to the length of the shell (1), which, as shown in FIG. 15 completely clear the bottom of the shell (1) without risk of contact of the carpet with the apophyses of the first dorsal vertebrae. However, it is possible to use a saddle of conventional shape if it is provided with quick fastening means capable of cooperating with those provided on the inner part of the shell, the flexibility of the mat allowing its deformation. According to another embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the shell (1) carries, at the front and outer ends, means (10) for fast fixing of the seat stop (11). The protection assembly according to the invention has, in addition to the advantage of solving the problem of rubbing on the withers, to allow easy change of the saddle pad for its cleaning, the shell being able to be finished. neat upholstery and allow the use of shock absorber and shaper.
