Abstract
Description
Wire guide for fishing rod allowing a direct contact between the ceramic ring and the blank. Today, many of the fishing rods are made of composite materials reinforced with carbon fibers. The user is always looking for more sensitive rods, light and resistant to corrosion. There are different types of fishing rod rings: simple wire or metal frame holding a ceramic ring, among others. The system so far the most reliable durable and powerful is made of a metal frame, provided with one or more legs, supporting a ceramic ring, very hard, to resist the abrasion of the line. Once tied to the cane, the legs of the frame help to maintain the ring. This system however poses technical problems: - The first problem is a loss of sensitivity, due to the fact that the ceramic ring is not in direct contact with the blank, but adjusted "tight" and then glued on the metal frame. - The second problem is a loss of sensitivity due to weight. The metals used for reinforcement have a high density. The lighter the rings, the more the inertia of the cane decreases and the more the cane will be sensitive. The sensitivity of the rod is defined as the ability to retransmit the vibrations conveyed by the line, then the rings and the blank, to the hand of the user who can thus interpret the behavior of his lure. - The third problem is the corrosion of the metal reinforcement, especially in saline medium.
The device according to the invention makes it possible to remedy the three problems posed. The device consists of a support made of lightweight and resistant materials, insensitive to marine corrosion. It can be plastic or composite materials. A composite carbon / epoxy lends itself well to the realization of the support. The support consists of a groove for housing the blank of the fishing rod. On the other side of this groove is a housing that can accommodate the ceramic ring. The support is designed so that the blank is tangent to the ring, which allows at least one point of contact between the ceramic ring and the blank, depending on the shape and inclination of the ceramic ring. The ceramic ring is then held by a link which is ligated around the cane. The link is finally squeezed into a hard epoxy type matrix, for example. The wire used for the ligation can be of different types, in particular carbon fibers.
The device is reduced to its simplest expression because the link also serves as a ligature. The absence of metal in the system eliminates the usual corrosion problems. FIG. 1 represents an exemplary embodiment of the support (1). Figure 2 shows the support assembly (1), blank (4), ring (2) without the ligature. 3 shows the support assembly (1), blank (4), ring (2) in section along the plane 35 defined by the axis of the rod and the axis of the ring. This view makes it possible to highlight the point of contact between the ring and the blank. FIG. 4 represents the detail of an exemplary embodiment of the support device (1), blank (4), ring (2) and link (3). By way of non-limiting example, the device is particularly well suited to rods 40 for tactile fisheries, in particular.
