Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the field of chemical compositions and to their process of preparation. More particularly, the present invention relates to the manufacture of a new chemical composition, containing the active ingredient sodium hydroxide, for the treatment of masonry. The said chemical composition is in liquid form intended to be applied to floors and walls to prevent and treat disorders caused by hygroscopic salts (saltpetre or other) and to remove surface moisture. Sodium hydroxide is an active ingredient that regulates an acid, a crystalline substance in the form of white powder or flakes soluble in water. The composition which is the subject of the invention guarantees an industrial feasibility by means of a simple and inexpensive preparation process, safety of use, good stability from a water-soluble active substance. STATE OF THE PRIOR ART In the products claiming for this purpose there are water repellents, cullet enhancers, remineralizing the stone, treatments of capillary rise: such as drainage at the level of foundations, electromagnetic processes: electro-osmosis passive or active that uses magnetic fields to reverse the polarity of the walls; electrophoresis which allows to seal the pores; sealed barriers such as silicone injection or derivatives. All this solves only part of the problem which is the supply of moisture. The hygroscopic salts contained in the masonry remain there indefinitely and are still not treated. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Thus, the work of the applicant has made it possible to develop a liquid chemical composition based on sodium hydroxide and its manufacturing process. This chemical solution is intended to be applied to masonry materials contaminated with hygroscopic salts (saltpetre or other). The invention relates to a chemical composition preferably liquid containing the active principle sodium hydroxide characterized in that it comprises: a) from 15 to 50% of active agent sodium hydroxide, b) from 45 to 80% of fluidifying agent (water), c) from 2 to 6% of penetrating wetting agent of heptamethyltrisiloxane type, the dosage proportions can vary according to the nature of the salts and the porosity of the materials to be treated. Preferably sodium hydroxide is in the form of solid crystals or powder which promotes wettability in aqueous medium. By particle size of a powder according to the invention is meant the average size of the grains which constitutes in this case less than 3 mm.
The amount of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is in the range of 15 to 50% by weight and in particular 15 to 33% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition according to the present invention. For ease of use it would be preferable not to exceed 33% so as to limit the freezing point of the solution to about 0 °. Sodium hydroxide (basic) will therefore react with saltpeter which is potassium nitrate with a pH between 5 and 7 (acid). By fluidizing agent is meant according to the invention an agent used to complete the prepared chemical composition. according to the process, until a predetermined total volume containing the selected amount of sodium hydroxide is obtained. The fluidizing agent has properties sufficient to completely dissolve the sodium hydroxide.
The fluidizing agent preferably represents 45 to 80% by weight and in particular 65 to 80% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition. The fluidizing agent used among the products for dissolving the sodium hydroxide water is preferably chosen a water of pH greater than 7 will be preferred to a distilled water.
By penetrating wetting agent is meant in the context of the present invention, any substance in solid or liquid form modifying the surface tension of water. The wetting agent preferably represents 2 to 6% by weight and in particular 2 to 5% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition. The penetrating wetting agent used among the family of organosilicones the thephamethyltrisiloxane is preferably chosen. The mixing of the ingredients will be by immersion of the sodium hydroxide in the water, then adding the wetting agent; this in a suitable mixing tank. Thus, the chemical composition according to the invention is advantageously in liquid form containing appropriate amounts of sodium hydroxide.
Ce produit est destiné à être utilisé sur tout support de maçonnerie : briques, béton, pierre naturelle, terre cuite, etc...The present invention relates to a product intended for the treatment of hygroscopic salts contained in masonry coming from: capillary rise, cements of screeds, sea spray, acid rain (PH 3 to 5) which affect in particular the non-architectural elements. protected.
