Description

The invention relates to the manufacture of vehicle tires and in particular the storage and transport of webs provided with metal reinforcements used in this manufacture. The manufacture of tires uses gum plies in which are drowned metal cables parallel to each other and inclined relative to the longitudinal direction of the web. Once the sheet has been separated from the rest of the material by cutting, it is known to temporarily store it on a conveyor belt or conveyor provided with magnets for retaining the sheet by magnetization against the upper horizontal portion of the strip. Thus, the conveyor receives the sheet after cutting, retaining the necessary time and delivers it at the time of use. However, this conveyor necessarily has a length exceeding that of the sheet and is therefore relatively bulky. An object of the invention is to store the webs by employing less bulky means. For this purpose, there is provided according to the invention an endless belt storage belt which comprises: flat strip sections opposite to each other; magnets disposed between the flat sections; and - at least one band return member, comprising at least one magnet. Thus, the carpet can accommodate the web against its two opposite planar strip sections and against at least one of the return members. The sheet thus covers all or part of the two faces of the carpet. Under these conditions, it is possible to store the sheet by means of a device that is half as long as that of the prior art. Storage is therefore done with much less bulky means than in the prior art. Advantageously, the carpet comprises two return members comprising at least one magnet. Thus, the web may be disposed at any point of the carpet and occupying the greater part of the perimeter of the latter. Preferably, the or each return member comprises a circular magnet. Advantageously, the mat comprises magnets associated with the respective planar sections. It is also provided according to the invention a tire manufacturing facility which comprises a carpet according to the invention. Advantageously, it comprises a product positioning device, in particular in the transverse direction, extending upstream of the belt by reference to a direction of routing of a product in the installation, a cutting device s' extending upstream of the carpet and / or tooling extending downstream of the carpet. According to the invention there is also provided a method for storing a ply provided with metal reinforcements and used for the manufacture of a tire, in which the ply is stored simultaneously against planar faces opposite to one another. endless belt mats. Preferably, the sheet covers at least 75% of the perimeter of the strip. Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent in the following description of an embodiment given by way of non-limiting example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIGS. 1 to 5 are views of a storage mat according to the invention during different phases of implementation of a tire manufacturing process; and - Figure 6 shows a manufacturing facility comprising this carpet.

Referring to Figures 1 to 5, the magnetic storage mat 2 is formed as a belt conveyor and comprises an endless belt 4 formed of a flexible material. Both ends of the band are attached end to end to give it the shape of a loop. The carpet is used to store a web 6 described below and transport it on the outer face of the carpet.

Elle recouvre plus de 75% du périmètre de la bande 4, ici plus de 90%.The belt comprises two belt return members in the form here of rollers 8 of cylindrical shape having horizontal axes and parallel to each other. The two rollers extend at the same height and support the band 4. At least one of the rollers, here the rear roller located on the left in the figures, is associated with motorized means (not illustrated) for setting the movement in motion. bandaged. From one to the other of the rollers, the band forms in the upper part a horizontal plane section 12 and in the lower part a horizontal plane section 14 parallel to the section 12. At the point where it is supported by the rollers, the strip Like the cylindrical sections 16, along the horizontal sections, on the side of the internal face of the strip, the belt comprises magnets 18 associated with the upper section 12 and magnets 20 associated with the lower section 14. The magnets 18 extend along the entire length of the section from one to the other of the rollers. It is the same for the magnets 20. The magnets 18 and 20 extend facing one another between the sections 12 and 14 and facing them respectively. They are arranged so as to retain the sheet 6 by magnetization against the sections 12 and 14 when it is at their level. The magnets 18 and 20 are here formed by plates. Each of the rollers 8 is in this case also provided internally with magnets 22 of annular shape. They make it possible to retain the sheet on the rollers by magnetization. The sheet 6 is formed in this case by gum 24 (comprising rubber and adjuvants) in which are embedded metal reinforcements 26 formed in this case by ferromagnetic metal son, for example steel. These son are elongated, straight, parallel to each other and extend in a direction inclined with respect to the longitudinal direction of the sheet which is also the horizontal direction 28 of advance and routing of the sheet when it arrives on the carpet 2. The term "wire" here must be understood in a general sense. It designates here for example a monofilament yarn, a multifilament yarn, a cable or a plied yarn. The wire may be surface treated or not. The yarns reinforce the tire to improve its strength and robustness. The installation 30, which includes the belt 2, also comprises upstream of the latter and in this order, with reference to the direction 28 of routing of the web: a device 36 for unwinding and supplying a composite material basic 27; a device 38 allowing the accumulation of this material before it reaches the downstream part of the installation; a cutting device 34 able to separate the ply 6 from the material 27; and a device 32 capable of ensuring the positioning of the sheet with respect to the mat 2, in this case in a horizontal direction transverse to the direction 28. Downstream of the mat 2 is a tool 40 here in the form of a drum for receiving the sheet 6 at the outlet of the storage mat. The process according to the invention is carried out as follows. The material 27 from the accumulation device 38 advances through the positioning device 32, where its positioning is adjusted if necessary. Then it arrives at its downstream end on the belt 2, as shown in Figure 1. The downstream end zone of the web is retained on the upper section 12 with the magnets 18 which interact with the son 26 of the web. Referring to Figure 2, the strip 4 being in motion on the rollers 16, the web continues to arrive on the carpet. It follows its downstream part the band around the downstream roll 8 by adopting a cylindrical shape around it and being held there by the magnet 22, then arrives on the lower section 14 where it is here also retained thanks to Magnets 20. Referring to Figure 3, the cutter 34 severs the material to individualize the web 6 from the remainder of the material remaining upstream. The sheet 6 then covers the two horizontal sections 12 and 14 and the right part of the downstream roll 8. Only the left part of the upstream roll 8 is not covered. It covers more than 75% of the perimeter of band 4, here more than 90%.

A la fin de cette étape, la nappe 6 se trouve entièrement sur le tambour 40 et non plus sur le tapis 2.With reference to FIG. 4, it is possible at this stage to stop the circulation of the strip 4 and to store the sheet 6 in this stationary position on the carpet 2. When it is desired to use the sheet for the manufacture of a tire, it is puts the web 4 in motion to deliver the web 6 to the tool 40 by manually separating or by appropriate means the downstream end of the web 10 with respect to the tape. The movement of the band 4 having resumed, this primer will allow to deliver the sheet 6 on the rotating tool 40 by separating it gradually from the band 4 despite the attraction exerted by the magnets. At the end of this step, the ply 6 is entirely on the drum 40 and no longer on the belt 2.

The invention allows the web 6 to be stored in a minimum of space and against both the upper and lower portions of the magnetic mat. This storage is carried out while maintaining the physical properties of the sheet 6, in particular its length, its width, its centering and its angular orientation. The web serves for the production of raw tire blanks for light, heavy-duty or civil engineering vehicles. Of course, we can bring to the invention many changes without departing from the scope thereof. The belt 2 may have an inclined configuration so that the plane sections 12 and 14 are not horizontal.

It will be possible to replace the means for fixing the sheet to the carpet by magnetic attraction by means of suction or vacuum: orifices subjected to a vacuum of air hold up the web on the carpet.
