Abstract

The lip joint for a pressure cooker between its lid and body is designed to perform two separate functions of perfect fit and an excellent seal. The extruded seal consists of a body (2) which lodges in a peripheral cavity in the head and an edge (3), which on the closure of the lid, and under the internal pressure in the pressure cooker, adjusts itself against the upper edge of the body to form a pressure seal.
