Abstract

The invention concerns a device and a method for heat treatment and impregnation, essentially by immersion, of wood or similar ligneous materials. The treatment method comprises a heating step for obtaining sudden evaporation of the water contained in the piece to be treated, followed by a step which consists in rapidly cooling the piece by contacting it with a liquid medium (6) containing wood preserving agent(s).
