Abstract

A composition (C1) for inerting clays in hydraulic compositions contains at least 50 wt% of a cationic polymer with a cationic charge density (CCD) of more than 0.5 meq/g and an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of less than 1 dl/g as active substance (CP1). An independent claim is also included for a method for inerting clays in sand used for the preparation of hydraulic compositions, by adding (C1) to the hydraulic composition (C2) or to one of its components.
