Abstract

The blank has a base (102) connected to flaps (112) by hinges (120) presenting bend and cut lines (122, 123).   The invention relates to a blank made of cardboard or similar material intended to form a box to receive one or more fragile objects, in particular with a view to their dispatch by post or courier, and consisting of a blank in a single thickness, equipped with sidewalks and protection legs protected by these sidewalks.

  In the following description, reference is made essentially to cardboard (compact or corrugated) as a constituent material, but the invention is in no way limited to this single material and may use any other equivalent rigid material (plastic, composite material, etc.). To simplify the exposition, it refers to only one object knowing that the invention applies to the packaging of one or more objects.

  The transportation of fragile objects, such as bottles, requires precautions, especially when handling these objects, but also protection.

  When a fragile object is sent by mail, the automatic sorting of packages by machines is a dangerous test for the integrity of the object.

  To prevent these objects from being broken during transport, many solutions have been proposed to ensure the protection of these objects.

  One solution is to dispose the object in any container filled with shock absorbing element such as polystyrene beads or bubble paper.

  Another solution is to enclose the object in a protective wedge matching the shape of the object, then to lock the setting in a box, usually cardboard for shipping. These wedges are for example made of foam or polystyrene. The walls of the box thus double or triple the walls of the wedging.

  These known containers give satisfaction with the technical result they provide, but at the expense of the cost price is quite high and, especially, ease of use.

  The disadvantage of this type of wedging is the need to adapt to the exact shape of the object so that it can fit properly in the wedging so that the protection is maximum.

  Another disadvantage is the recycling of this package. Indeed, after opening the package, users usually put the foam cushioning or styrofoam in the cardboard box, before throwing the whole discarded.

  The heterogeneity of matter then forces, for recycling, to separate the different elements to treat each of them on their own.

  In addition, shipments by mail or courier are growing in parallel with the increase in mail order, catalog or computer network sales, particularly via the INTERNET.

  Containers are becoming more and more specialized and rational, but it is essential that they are both affordable and easy to manipulate because users are not only professionals but also simple users who want to find containers. adapted to their shipments, while they are in a post office or courier, at home or in a shop.

  One solution is to manufacture cardboard wedges, secured or not of the transport box itself cardboard. French Patent No. 2,813,289 of 31/08/2000 in the name of the Applicant describes a cardboard wedging for the transportation and protection of fragile objects such as bottles.

  If the solution proposed in this patent gives complete satisfaction as to the ease of recycling and the multiplicity of possible forms of object, the setting is still expensive because it consists of a large amount of cardboard and that it requires many manufacturing steps in the factory. In addition, when the capacity of stuffing of objects increases, it is more and more difficult to straighten the setting without altering it.

  It is therefore important to provide a box for the transport of objects allowing an optimal protection while presenting a minimal cost of manufacture and a great facility of recycling.

  To this end, the present invention proposes to make a box comprising, on the one hand, means of protection and shock absorption without gluing or folding in the factory to limit the manufacturing steps, while limiting the amount of cardboard by the use of a single thickness of cardboard, and secondly, means for holding the object without closure means, the presence of prolonged effect adhesive being dedicated solely to the closure of the box.

  The box obtained with a blank according to the invention thus has a high impact resistance and allows optimal protection of the object through the edges present on all sides of the box.

  The blank is very easy to obtain in a single press (cutting and marking of the folds) and does not require any additional step of folding and / or gluing in the factory. In addition, the blank being in a single thickness, the packaging and storage of a plurality of blanks according to the invention are easy.

Use of a blank according to any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein the step of activating the closing means (111; 211) is to remove the protective strip (134; 234) of the long-acting adhesive (136; 236).
