Abstract

The procedure involves using a self-propelled carriage (1) travelling on rails (2). The carriage has a coupling trough (7) for a container. The carriage moves until it is positioned with the trough above a container. After the trough has been aligned with the matching section of the container, both pieces are connected by moving one w.r.t. the other. Trough and container are locked together and transferred to their new position before separating. The carriage can travel along vertical rails, extending or retracting the trough by using articulated levers (L1,L2). It can also turn in about a vertical pivot to engage with a container received or dispatched on a horizontal roller conveyor.
