Abstract

The immobiliser consists of a thoracic support (1) and a series of suspension and retaining elements (2,3,4). The thoracic support is in the form of an inflatable cushion (5,6) designed to be placed between the patient's arm and chest, and has the retaining elements attached to it. The cushion comprises a sleeve (5) and an inner inflatable envelope. It is rectangular in shape, measuring approximately 40 x 30 cm. The retaining elements are in the form of straps fastened to the cushion and to a two-way stretch sling (47) on the front of it.
