Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to operating lights and, more particularly, operating lights associated with a camera.
The operating lights are generally equipped with at least one dome handling member, typically a central handle that the surgeon uses in order to perfectly align the light beam in his line of vision. This handle must be sterile so as not to contaminate the surgeon's gloves. Conventionally, the central handle is removable so that it can be changed after each intervention to be cleaned, decontaminated, reconditioned and sterilized in a sealed bag for new use. More recently, sterile handles of this type have been proposed, for single use, avoiding decontamination problems and allowing standardization on operating lights of different brands.
The situation has recently become more complicated with the appearance of operating lights incorporating a video camera, the ideal position of which is also in the center of the dome, thus creating interface problems with the handling and coexistence of sterile and non-sterile areas at this location.
The object of the present invention is to propose a new arrangement of operating lighting allowing total, safe and low-cost integration of a video camera and sterile disposable handles.
To do this, the invention provides operating lighting comprising a dome comprising a camera and a handle for handling the dome, the camera being arranged in a mounting box in the dome, the box having one end open towards the exterior and arranged to receive a quick mounting structure for a handling handle comprising a disposable gripping part made of plastic material comprising a tubular part, for its gripping, and a transverse end porthole.
According to more specific features of the invention - at least the window is made of organic glass, for example polycarbonate; - the handle structure is unitary and rigid; - The handle structure is composite with a hollow handle part and a cap, typically made of flexible polymer material, pluggable on the handle part and integrating said tubular grip part and the porthole.
Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will emerge from the following description of embodiments, given by way of illustration but in no way limiting, made in relation to the appended drawings, in which - FIG. 1 is a view partially in section and in exploded view of a first embodiment of operating lighting according to the invention with the handle structure opposite its assembly assembly in the lighting dome; and - Figure 2 is an exploded view of a composite handle structure according to a second embodiment of the invention.
In the following description and in the drawings, identical or similar elements bear the same reference numbers.
On the top of Figure 1 there is shown the central part 1 of a front face of an operating lighting dome comprising a through housing 2 in which is mounted a housing 3 for mounting a video camera 4 and a single-use handling handle 5 shown in half-section on the lower part of FIG. 1.
In the embodiments shown, the housing has a through passage 6, in which the camera 4 is arranged with its optics 7 projecting from the housing 3, the end opening towards the outside of the passage 6 comprising a coarse thread 8 net and big step. The optic 7 is fixed or autofocus with advantageously an electrically controlled optical zoom and / or a digital zoom.
In the embodiment of FIG. 1, the handle structure 5 is rigid and unitary and comprises a main tubular part 9 closed at one end by a transparent end piece 10 comprising a central optical zone 11 with parallel faces. The other end of the tubular part 9 is open towards the outside to freely receive the optics 7 of the camera 4 and peripherally comprises a thread 12 intended to cooperate with the thread 8 of the housing 3. The handle 5 constituting the member initially sterile gripping, comprises, at the base of the thread 12, a radially extending screen disc 13 preventing the contact of the surgeon's hand gripping the tubular part 9 with the housing 3 or the central zone 1 of the dome.
According to one aspect of the invention, for good optical quality of the window 11, the transparent nozzle 10 is made of organic glass, typically of polycarbonate, secured to the tubular part 9 of inexpensive plastic material, for example polyethylene, by ultrasonic welding or by overmolding of the latter on the end piece 10. As a variant, the entire handle structure 5, with the possible exception of the disc 13, which will then be added, can be made of organic glass.
In the embodiment of FIG. 2, the handle structure 5 is composite with a rigid handle part 50 and a partially flexible cap 51 which can be plugged onto the latter. In this embodiment, the handle portion 50 comprises a tubular body 14 open at both ends, supporting the screen 13, here advantageously of frustoconical shape, and forming at its upper end the threads 12 for mounting in the thread 8 of the housing 3.
The cap part 51 comprises a main part advantageously made of flexible polymer material, transparent or not, for example latex or polybutadiene, comprising a tubular part forming the handling part 9, extended by a frustoconical part 15 formed to conform to the overlap l conical screen 13.
In the embodiment shown, the lower end of the tubular part 9 is fitted elastically onto the grooved periphery of the end piece 10 made of organic glass forming the window 11. For good hold of the cover 51 on the handle 50, the periphery of the tubular part 14 of the latter advantageously comprises parallel circular corrugations 16. In this embodiment, the handle part 50 can be mounted almost permanently in the housing 3, protecting the optics 7 of the camera, the cap being changed at each intervention.
