Abstract

The flow of champagne in a champagne fountain is controlled by means of a 12V electric motor (2) which has a flexible tube (1) carrying the champagne passing through a slot (6) in its shaft (3). The motor has a hollow drive shaft with a slot which can receive a number of flexible tubes for a fountain which fills 105 champagne glasses once the fountain has been filled with 14 bottles of champagne. The rotation of the motor shaft through three-quarters of a turn when actuated by a switch with two contacts (5) rolls up the tubes and shuts off the flow. When the motor is reversed the flow is able to resume again.
