Les inconvénients de ce système sont les suivantes : d'une part, la bicyclette est difficilement maintenue en position verticale, elle s'incline à droite ou à gauche provoquant ainsi une distorsion pouvant voiler la roue avant. D'autre part, ce système ne protège pas non plus du vol des cadres et/ou des roues arrière puisqu'il suffit de déverrouiller les papillons de la roue avant.
