Abstract

The clasp for a leather bag (1) comprises a rigid female piece (8) made of metal, plastic or leather. This piece which has a hole (9) passing through it is fixed to a first wall of the bag and faces a second wall. It passes through a cut-out hole (10) in the second wall. A deformable male tongue (11) is fixed by one end to one of the bag walls and passes through the female hole. The tongue penetrates into the hole in the female piece and is passed through the cut-out with a force or deformation so as to ensure its retention without accidental disengagement. Description

The invention relates to a clasp for a container such as an article

  leather goods, a bag or the like, and a container provided with such a clasp. More particularly, the subject of the invention is a clasp that is simple to implement, discrete, in particular

  not very visible on one side of the container, and aesthetic.

  Such a clasp comprises in the first place a rigid piece, female, provided with a hole, intended to be fixed to a first wall of the container by being turned towards a second wall thereof, and being able to pass through a cutout of the first wall, the hole being open and directed towards the opening of the container. It comprises secondly a deformable piece, tongue-shaped, intended to be fixed at one end to the first or second wall of the container, and being able to penetrate into the hole of the female part and

  to remain there without untimely release.

  The hole of the female part can be through or blind. In transverse cross section, the hole of the female part may have a generally elongated shape and / or

  rectilinear, or almost rectilinear, or curved, or flattened.

  The tab, male, although deformable, has a certain hold and can penetrate into the hole of the female part through the cutout of the second wall of the container, by force or with friction or with deformation so as to ensure maintenance without accidental release . The female part may be made of or coated with various materials such as metal, plastic or leather,

used alone or in combination.

  The male tongue of the clasp can be fixed at one end to the first or second wall in the vicinity of its free edge, according to the embodiment in question. In one embodiment, the male tongue is fixed at one end to the second wall, near a cutout of the second wall that can be

  crossed by the female part of the clasp.

  The female part has a thickness greater than that of the second wall, the hole of the female part being positioned to be at least partially outside the container when the female part passes through the

  cutting of the second wall of the container.

  The cutout of the second wall may be a through hole contour of general shape complementary to

that of the female part.

  In one embodiment, the hole of the female part is through and, when the clasp is in the closed position, the male tongue completely traverses the hole of the female part and protrudes from it by

its free end.

  The container 1, for which the clasp 7 is intended,

  comprises a first wall 2 and a second wall 3.

  The first wall 2 comprises a surface 2a turned towards the outside of the container 1 and a surface 2b turned

towards the inside of the container 1.

  Similarly, the second wall 3 comprises a surface 3a turned towards the outside of the container 1 and a surface

  3b turned towards the inside of the container 1.

  Other walls, not represented, complete the

  containing 1, in particular connecting the walls 2 and 3.

  The first wall 2 carries a handle 4.

  In the embodiment shown, the handle 4 is fixed, for example sewn, on the inner surface 2b of the wall 2, so that the fastening is

  invisible on the outer surface 2a of the wall 2.

  In another embodiment, not shown, the handle is fixed on the outer surface 2a of the wall 2, its attachment being, moreover, invisible on the surface

  The second wall 3 has in the vicinity of its upper free edge, two notches 5 intended to allow the passage of the ends 6 of the handle 4 when

  The clasp 7 comprises first of all a part

  female 8, rigid provided with a hole 9.

  The female part 8 is fixed rigidly on the inner surface 2b of the wall 2, in the embodiment shown, so that the fixing is

  invisible on the outer surface 2a of the wall 2.

  The hole 9 of the female part 8 and / or the tongue 11 has a rough or non-slip contact surface. The tongue 11 has a certain capacity for elastic deformation in the direction of its thickness,

  its free end 12 is otherwise rigid or semi-

  rigid. The end 14 opposite the end 12 of the tongue 11 is, in the embodiment shown,

  attached to the second wall 3, on its inner face 3b.

  This end 14 has a shape of eyelet 15 whose inner contour is substantially identical to the

contour of the cut 10.

  Thus, in the embodiment shown, the female part 8 of the clasp 7 passes through the eyelet 15 of the end 14 and the cutout 10 of the wall 3 when the

  container is in a closed situation.

  The thickness of the tongue 11 and the wall 3, as well as the thickness of the female part 8, measured along the axis 16 of FIG. 1 are chosen such that the hole 9 of the female part 8 at least partially outside the container 1 when it is in a closed position, the tongue 11 then being able to cooperate in particular, to cross, by its free end

12, the hole 9.

  In another embodiment, not shown, the end 14 of the tongue 11 is fixed on the wall 2,

  on its internal face 2b or external 2a.

  In the embodiment not shown such that the tongue 11 is fixed on the inner face 2b of the wall 2, the end 14 of the tongue 11 may have an eyelet shape whose internal contour is substantially of the same shape as the contour of the female part 8, fixed it

  also on the inner face 2b of the wall 2.

  In the embodiment shown, the notches 5 made on the wall 3 are arranged in such a way that the female part 8 can be of minimum thickness. Indeed, the thickness of the ends 6 of the handle 4 does not condition the thickness of the female part 8, the ends of the handle 4 passing through the

nicks 5.

  The thickness of the female part 8, in the embodiment shown, must be such that, when it passes through the eyelet 15 and the cutout 10 of the wall 3, the hole 9 protrudes at least partially towards the outside of the containing 1, the free end 12 of the tongue 11 being able to penetrate into the hole 9, in a closed position

of the container 1.

  The use of a clasp according to the invention is easy. Thus, to go into a closed situation, it is necessary to: - bring closer the walls 2 and 3 respectively carrying the female part 8, the cutout 10 and the tongue 11 of the clasp 7 in the embodiment shown; - Insert the female part 8 in the cutout 10 and keep the two walls in a position such that the hole 9 of the female part 8 protrudes outwardly of the container; while keeping both walls in said position, insert the free end 12 of the tongue into the hole 9 of the female part 8 until the free end passes completely through the part 8, in the embodiment such that the hole 9 is through, or reaches the end of the hole 9 if this hole is blind;

- loosen the two walls 2 and 3.

  Maintaining the tongue 11 in the hole 9 of the part 8 is then ensured in particular by: - the natural tendency of the walls 2 and 3 to move apart, the second wall coming or tending to come against the inner face of the tongue 11, and / or the fact that the tongue 11 has a rough or non-slip contact surface, and / or the hole 9 of the female part 8 has a rough contact surface or nonslip. To enter the opening situation, it is advisable to: - remove the tongue 11 from the hole 9 of the part 8, this operation possibly being facilitated by tightening the two walls 2 and 3 against each other; - When the tongue 11 is completely removed, if necessary separate the two walls 2 and 3 from one another.
