Abstract

The radiotelephone (RT1) includes a radio circuit (CR1) and a housing (LO) which receives a first module (M1) carrying a microcircuit. Within the housing, a first read/write interface (LM1) enables the microcircuit to communicate with the radio. A second read/write interface (LM2) reads and writes data stored in a second module (M2) which also carries a microcircuit. Both interfaces are mounted within the housing and either of the microcircuits may be inserted. The second microcircuit can be used to enable a bank transaction card to be used in conjunction with the radiotelephone to perform financial transactions.
