Abstract

The present invention relates to a curler (roller) consisting principally of two longitudinal bodies 1 and 2, having the special feature of possessing a frustoconical shape, which bodies are juxtaposed lengthwise and connected via one end 5. The opposite faces of the two bodies include transverse teeth 4.

Description

 The invention relates to a curler for winding the hair at a point along their length towards the root, for carrying out the operations of unbreakable in order to give the hairstyle a swelling configuration close to the root.

 Curlers are generally known which consist of a cylindrical body around which the strands of hair are wound, starting from the end towards the root, and in contact with the scalp, said curlers are blocked with spikes or elastic bands.

 I1 also exists the curler consisting of a cylindrical body which has a straight groove along its length in which is housed a barrette which acts as a clamp, making it possible to wind the hair from the root.

The latter curler has a drawback, in that the hair gets caught around the articulation of the bar and is pulled out when the curler is removed, causing an inconvenience.

 The object of the present invention is to design a very simple curler which, however, allows the functions of the two aforementioned curlers, while avoiding the drawbacks highlighted.

Its design also allows easier winding of the hair.

 The curler, object of the present invention, consists mainly of two longitudinal bodies having the particularity of having a frustoconical shape, which bodies are juxtaposed by their length and connected by one end by any suitable means.

 The two bodies, by their frustoconical profile, constitute an inclined plane for the separating slit which will receive the lock of hair to be rolled up.

 Another particular feature is that the relatively wide longitudinal slot comprises transverse teeth formed in said frustoconical bodies.

 The bodies of the curler can be made up of full or hollow cylinders and be formed from more or less flexible plastic, synthetic foam, cork, etc.

 The invention is set out below in more detail with the aid of drawings showing only embodiments by way of example.

 Figure 1 shows, in perspective, a curler, object of the invention.

 FIG. 2 represents, in elevation, a variant of the curler according to FIG. 1.

 Figure 3 shows, briefly, the positioning of the curler, object of the invention, on the scalp.

 FIG. 4 represents a variant design of the curler according to the invention.

 As shown in the figure, the curler has a solid cylindrical body divided into two parts 1 and 2 by a longitudinal slit 3 large enough to pass a lock of hair, which slit 3 has teeth 4 formed transversely in the bottom wall of the slit longitudinal.

 The two parts 1 and 2 are held together only by a strip 5 extending one end of their longitudinal edges.

 The slot 3 has an inclined positioning, so that its longitudinal axis is not parallel to the longitudinal outer edges of the parts 1 and 2, so that the said parts 1 and 2 are frustoconical and placed in an inverted manner between them, forming a cylindrical assembly.

 The two ends of the parts have through holes 6 for receiving a spike 7, in order to block the curler on the scalp 8 once wound on a lock of hair 9.

 According to a preferred embodiment of the invention (Figure 2), the transverse teeth 4 can be formed on both sides of the separating slot.

 According to another simplified embodiment of the invention, represented in FIG. 4, the body of the curler consists of two cones 10 and 11 inverted and juxtaposed by their length forming a cylinder, by means of a flexible plastic loop 12 or other.

 In this last example of an embodiment, the cones will preferably be made of synthetic foam pierced with through holes 13 to allow immobilization with the spikes 7 on the scalp 8.

 One of the cones has transverse teeth 4 for good spreading of the lock of hair.

 The curler, object of the invention, is more particularly designed to take a lock of hair at any point along its length and wind it towards its root.
