Abstract

The hinge comprises two elements 22 and 24A or 24B pivotally connected by an axis 25 with the possibility of dismantling, the first element comprises means 27A, 27B, 27C for pivoting the axis and the second element comprises a coupling part which consists in a hook 29, 34 open in the axial direction of the axis with an opening width greater than the diameter of said axis, and a loop 30, 35 open in the same direction as the hook with a smaller opening width to the diameter of said axis.   The present invention relates to a hinge advantageously used with a piano cover constituting

  the upper surface of the latter.

  As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, one end of a conventional piano lid is detachably connected to the upper part of an inner surface of a side 2 by means of hinges 3 so that it can be open vertically. Each hinge 3 has a first

  hinge element 6 and a second hinge element 8.

  The first hinge member 6 has a pair of front and rear pins 4A and 4B disposed coaxially at a distance from each other and is secured to the inner surface of the side 2 by screws 5. The second hinge member 8 comprises in one piece a pair of front and rear sleeves 7A and 7B at its upper end. The pair of front and rear sleeves 7A and 7B axially receive pins 4A and 4B, respectively. The second hinge element 8 is attached to an end face of the lid I by screws. The upper end portion of the first hinge member 6 comprises a single piece of a pair of front and rear sleeves 9A and 9B. One end of each of the pins 4A and 4B is inserted into one of the corresponding sleeves 9A and 9B. The distance L1 between the sleeve 9A and the pin 4B is greater than the length L1 of the sleeve 7B (L1> L1). The distance 12 between the sleeves 7A and 7B is slightly greater than the distance L2 between the forward end of the pin 4A and the rear end of the sleeve 9A (tL2> L2). To attach the cover 1 to the piano body, the sleeve 7B is inserted between the sleeve 9A and the pin 4B, and the cover is moved backwards so as to insert the pins 4A and 4B into the corresponding sleeves 7A and 7B. The lid 1 comprises a core material 11 consisting of an agglomerate board, a fiber board or the like, surface plates 12 and 13 bonded to the top and bottom surfaces of the core material 11 and an end plate 14 of hardwood (eg beechwood) adhered to the end face of the core material 11. Screws (not shown) for securing the second hinge member 8 cooperate with the end piece 14. With the hinges 3, when the lid 1 is attached to the piano body or detached from the latter, the

  In order to satisfy the above objects of the present invention, there is provided a hinge comprising a first hinge member, a second hinge member, and an axis for pivotably and disassembling the first and second hinge members, the first hinge member being provided with holding means for pivotally maintaining the axis, the second hinge member being provided with a coupling portion, the coupling portion consisting of a hook portion open in the axial direction of the axis and having an opening width greater than the diameter of the axis, and an open loop-shaped portion in the same direction as that of the opening of the hook-shaped portion and in the axial direction and having a width of opening smaller than the diameter of the axis, and the axis being designed such that an axis portion which is coupled to the loop portion of the second hinge member carries a slotted portion of its surface, the slotted portion having a maximum thickness, in its cross-section which is smaller than the width

  We will now describe the preferred embodiment

of the invention.

  Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, a hinge includes a first hinge member 22, a pair of second hinge members 24A and 24B and an axis 25. The first hinge member 22 is attached to the upper edge of the surface on one side 2 by a number of screws 21. The pair of second hinge members 24A and 24B is attached to the lower surface portion of one end of a lid 1I by means of a number of screws. 23.   The width D1 of the hook-shaped portion 29 is slightly larger than the diameter R of the axis 25. The open width D2 of the C-shaped loop portion 30 is slightly greater than the radius of the axis.   1. - Hinge comprising a first hinge element (22), a second hinge element (24A or 24B) and an axis for pivotally connecting with possibility of disassembly said first and second hinge elements characterized in that: - said first hinge member has holding means (27A or 279 or 27C) for pivotally maintaining said axis, said second hinge member having a coupling portion, said coupling portion being a hook portion (29 or 34) open in an axial direction of said axis and having an opening width which is greater than the diameter of said axis, and a loop-shaped portion (30 or 35) open in the same direction as that of the opening provided in said portion forming hook and in the axial direction and having an opening width smaller than that of the diameter of that axis, and -   said axis is arranged such that the axis portion which is coupled to said loop-shaped portion of said second hinge member has a notched portion (40 or 41) on its surface, said notched portion having a maximum thickness, in its transverse direction, which is lower   at the opening width of said loop-shaped portion.   2. - hinge according to claim I wherein said second hinge element comprises another coupling portion (24B instead of 24A) having an identical structure and spaced from it and - said holding means (27B) of said first element hinges (22) are disposed at least between said coupling portion (24A) and said other coupling portion (24B).   3. - Hinge according to claim 2 wherein said first hinge element (22) comprises two holding means (27A, 27B) so as to frame said coupling portion (24A) of said second hinge element (24A or 24B) on said shaft (38).   4. - Hinge according to claim 2 wherein said coupling portion (24A) and said other coupling portion   (24B) are made in the same room.   5. - hinge according to claim 1 wherein said holding means (27A or 27B or 27C) keep in rotation said axis (38). A hinge according to claim 5 wherein an L-shaped control portion (37) which is folded in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction is   arranged at one end of said axis (38).
