Abstract

The invention relates to simple and inexpensive equipment based on a hygrometric sensor formed by an electrical salt bridge, functioning in a linear manner and within the range of milliseconds. In order to permit a flexible use, particularly in intensive care, this sensor is located at the distal end, with respect to the face of the subject, either of a catheter, advantageously with nasal insertion, or of an oronasal mask with a single or double opening, the morphology of which mask is, in one of the models of the invention, formed by a truncated cone facilitating the serial deposition of the salt bridge.

Description

BREVET D 'INVENTION
PATENT
Direct apnea monitor the control of the ventilatory state is a necessity Princeps in many medical and paramedical fields (including experimental physiology) both human and veterinary and, in particular, as an indication: in ambulance transport, functional exploration, awakening set, sleep assessment, intensive care unit, prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, hospitalization at home, post-stress recovery, assistance for premature babies and also asthmatics .

The proposed devices are however of uti.li.satilrn inrlirw ecte and binding conmu the impedancemetric svrstèmes, with capacitances, that they use or not straps and / or thoracic and abdominal belts which are in any case in place and to hold in place delicate after surgical intervention - on the trunk0
The invention which is the subject of this patent is based on the direct and permanent capture of the pulmonary air flow and therefore follows the inepiratory and expiratory alternations of the subject under observation.

Its principle is based on the hygrometry of the pulmonary air flow and implements a salt bridge sensor, linear and responding in the field of milliseconds. 0 To offer a use at the best choice in different circumstances, the instrumentation object of this patent is present in the form of two modelsa In the model of the first type, the sensor is located at the internal end of the distal part of a tube called catheter which can advantageously have an outside diameter of 2 to 6 mm; the sensor is advantageously supplied with direct current of I, 5 V or even 9 V, this power supply being able to be inserted into the internal cylinder of the catheter; the distal part of the latter can be introduced commonly via the nasal route. In the second type, the sensor is placed on an oro mask. -nasal can be # indicative, a so-called dust mask with an opening in front or two openings in the front oro-nasal; the sensor is located advantageously in a thin layer by soaking, and subsequent drying in an electrically conductive solution after two conductive staples, diametrically opposed in the standard case, have been fixed. This patent also covers a frustoconical mask, which covers by its base the oro-nasal perimeter and the distal end of which contains, inside, the sensor after two electrically conductive staples have been affixed therein in a diametrical manner in the standard case The saline start in the case of the frustoconical mask is advantageously carried out by stacking these masks one on the other and by passing the saline solution in this tube by going from the base, placed at the top, placed at the bottom, the topography unfolding by gravity, so that the sensitive layer is automatically deposited on the internal face of the outlet end of each stacked mask and is fixed there by a subsequent passage of air, for information, to suitable temperature, fixation all the better ensured as the material of the distal end of each mask offers a surface favoring saline fixation - cardboard or plastic, as an indication, with rough area. A headband is placed, before any operation saline, at the base of each frusto-conical or other mask O For obvious hygienic reasons, catheters and masks are sterilized in sachets, advantageously by ray ons Y 9 each mask or catheter used only for a single use,
The capture of ventilatory information from each sensor is done by a measuring rod conveying and ends with a ventilatory cycle counter or by an analog plotter:, the clips used to establish the necessary electrical junctions between the mask and recorders whose incoming wires are fitted with miniature electric claws which adapt to # ites'agrafes 0The present patent also covers any supply of the sensor by insertion into the mask itself and, allowing, for guidance, radio- ventilatory telemetry0
