Abstract

The device essentially comprises one (or more) printed circuit on to which a graphical representation is bonded. It also includes a search plug and an electrical battery. The assembly of the device constituting this game allows a given geographical situation to be sought starting with a name. The response is gauged by a light or audio signal. We have taken, as example, our preferred embodiment which is a geographical map. The invention finds applications in fields other than geography.

Description

The present invention relates to an electric educational game whose aim is to make the teaching of certain subjects attractive and more particularly the teaching of geography.

Precisely your use in the teaching of geography of maps called Silent Maps on which no name is written. Using this map, a student is asked to look for the name of a given geographic location: City, Mountain River * .. etc. We can also make the opposite proposal and request the location by indicating the name. This exercise requires an effort of memory and enriches knowledge. The effectiveness of this form of pedagogy is recognized and stems from the fact that it sty a playful spirit. This blank card has drawbacks which limit its use.

Indeed, its use requires the presence of another person who knows the answer or else, it is necessary to have recourse to inconvenient processes such as removable covers which mask the names or even to the obligation to refer to a card in clear to check the answer.

The present invention remedies these drawbacks and proposes an embodiment which transforms the teaching of geography into an attractive game. We will see below that geography is not the only discipline concerned but we take it as an example for the moment in order to facilitate the understanding of our presentation. The characteristic objects and advantages of the present invention will appear better during the illustrated description of drawings which will follow and which represents a preferred but nonlimiting embodiment.

Plg.l is a schematic representation of the entire production.

La Fig. 2 représente différentes formes de jonctions électriques masseZconducteurs-villes données à titre d'exemples non limitatifs. Fig. 2 shows different forms of electrical mass-conductor-city junctions given by way of non-limiting examples.

Here is the description of an implementation of this game (Fig. 1).

We choose to take the example of a map of the cities of France. The map (l) is stuck on a printed circuit (2) obtained by one of the known industrial processes. To increase the density of the data, one can use one or more single or double-sided circuits. The electrical connections between circuits are also ensured by one of the known methods. At the point of location of each city, the card is perforated and said perforation (3) coincides with the center of an electrically conductive patch (4) on the printed circuit. As shown in figl, this device is connected, by means of a conductor (5) d a semi circular patch (6) diametrically opposite and isolated from another chip (7). This latter is connected to an electrical circuit supplied by a current of negative sign, said current constituting a ground of the circuit (8). Fig. l shows us a file which we will call research card (9). is attached to an electrical wire (lO) which has leads to a terminal of a light signal (ll) the other terminal of which is itself supplied with positive sign current (l2). The current is supplied by an electric battery (13)
We will now show how this game plays out while continuing our description.

We take our example of the cities of Prance and the case of two players. Note that this game can be played with one or more players. Suppose that a player asks another player to kill the city of LYON on the ear * It formulates its interrogation by placing an electrically conductive circular stud (l4) in the hole located opposite the name LYON (Fig.I) It thus comes to cap the two semi-pads of the printed circuit and thus establish an electrical connection between the mass and the conductor leading to the patch located at the geographical location of the city of
LYON. Note that the pad has a sufficient base surface to remain in place without being held, which frees the player's hand. We have taken here, the example of a conductive pad covering two pellets of semicircular shape but the Fig.2 shows us other forms of electrical junctions that can be used for the bridging performed by the interrogation pad and given by way of nonlimiting examples.

Using the search form, the player questioned must
search then locate the city of LYON on the electric map
That done, he engages the plug in the corresponding perforation
in this city and the plug then comes into contact with the pad (4) arranged on the printed circuit. Let us recall that this pad is negatively charged due to its grounding by the interrogation pad and that the plug and the wire which extends it conduct current to one of the terminals of a signal (ll) the other terminal of said signal being supplied by a current of positive sign (l2). The introduction of the plug therefore causes the closure of the electrical circuit which triggers a light or sound signal or even causes some event.

If the card is inserted into a hole that does not correspond to the name of the requested city, nothing happens and the player must continue to search.

In order to make the research interesting, care was taken to keep the names of the cities away from their geographic location by dispersing the two elements: geographic location and appellation. As illustrated in Fig. 1, i1 is impossible to establish a close relationship between the geographical location of the cities shown as an example and the location of their name, cec-i thanks to the judicious routing of drivers (5) going from the names of the cities to the places. Let’s note that we can also play by asking the opposite question to the one we have described. This is to say engage and maintain the search form in a perforation locating the city and asking for the name. , to respond, to engage the stud in the hole corresponding to the name of the city to find.

This invention is not limited to geographic applications, but may also be suitable for other embodiments such as, for example, the different parts of the human body muscles or bones- or in other areas as different as the national flags or road signs, nautical or other, these signals are examples. These examples are given for information and are not restrictive of graphic representation.
