PACKAGING HANDLE REINFORCEMENT SPSTIME
The present invention relates to a packaging handle reinforcement system.

 I1 currently exists on the market, a wide variety of packaging having a grip handle.

These handles are of various types, but we will essentially retain two types
- The handles attached to the packaging, most are made of plastic.

 The handles incorporated in the packaging, packaging generally in cardboard or corrugated cardboard; packaging whose design and shape allow them to include a handle for carrying.

Among the variety of handles incorporated in the packaging, we find handles reinforced with tear-resistant reinforcing tape or wire; these bands or wires are incorporated into the structure of the cardboard, which allows an almost indisputable increased solidity.

We find for example this type of handle, with internal reinforcement strip for "PACK and BEER" packaging, the handle is on top of the packaging; it consists of a single strip of unlined cardboard; it is arranged transversely and ergonomically impractical to transport 1 package.

 There are packaging on the market of the type "for baby diapers, these are packages of small basic section and whose height is greater than the other dimensions; the weight to be transported is generally low compared to the volume.

 - These packages are of the "American box type, that is to say with flaps on the top and bottom; the width of the package is small, the flaps overlap completely; on the top flaps are used - two lights generally oblong, parallel to each other and leaving between them two superimposed parts, most often glued to each other, these parts can be reinforced by bands in their internal structure; these parts will therefore constitute the handle for gripping the packaging.

Such handles are ideal for packaging with light products inside. Actually, these handles cannot be suitable for heavy products because the flaps being glued together and themselves glued to the small interior flaps, the traction carried out on the handle would be such that the glue dots would be directly stressed and that in the long run would break the glue points resulting in separation of the flaps and a certain deformation thereof.

The present invention therefore aims to provide a packaging with incorporated handle allowing the transport of products of high weight without deterioration thereof by rupture of the bonding areas in the vicinity of the handle.

The invention relates to a packaging handle reinforcement system; this system could be applied to a varied number of packages and the drawings annexed to this patent will be represented by way of example.

This is how the packaging shown in the drawings relates to a pack for beer bottles, this type of packaging is formed on a mechanization machine; the volume is made by wrapping the products; but the mechanization could be done with a similar packaging whose junction tab would have been previously glued and in this case the products would be collected laterally in the packaging.

The packaging presented has a grip handle on each of its side faces (to be able to be carried either by one of the handles, or by the other) but this packaging could only include a handle on one of its sides side.

In any case, the invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the description which follows, with reference to the appended schematic drawings, representing by way of example a non-limiting form of this packaging.

Figure 1 is a flat view of a blank from which the packaging is made.

Figure 2 is a view of the packaging in the final closing phase, phase located before gluing of the 4 ears.

The blank 1 shown in Figure 1 is intended to form a packaging called "pack for beers"; in the mechanization operation the batch of bottles will be brought to the bottom (2), this bottom (2) is separated from the longitudinal sides (3) by grooves (4). By the weight of the bottles and possibly with the assistance of suction cups , the bottom (2) will descend for example in a well and in this movement the longitudinal flanks (3) will rise to be positioned at 90 relative to the bottom (2). In the movement of squaring the flanks (3 ) relative to the bottom (2), the small interior flaps (5) will come up to obtain a final position of 90 'relative to the sides (3); prior to the movement of the small flaps (5) lines of glue will have been placed outside these flaps, and in synchronization of the movement of the small flaps (5) the flaps (6) will be raised and will be pressed on the flaps (5) the adhesive setting being instantaneous; the cover (7) which includes a pre-cut (8) will be folded over the bottles, this cover (7) being separated from the sidewall (3) by the delivery (9), the junction tab (10) separated by the delivery (11) will be pressed on the outside of the end flank (3) the part on which this tab (10) will be applied having been previously glued.

Glue lines will be deposited on the outside of the flaps (6) as well as on the outside parts of the flaps (5) which are still visible and the flaps (12) will be folded down and pressed onto the flaps (6); the final phase consisting of folding the "ears" (13) against the longitudinal sides (3), the parts receiving the "ears" having been previously glued.

The "ears" (13) can be folded thanks to the push-backs (14) separating these ears from the flaps (12); certain features of the packaging have not yet been detailed; this is the case of the zones (15) shown between the visible dotted lines on all the flaps and representing the reinforcing strips incorporated in the carton; lights (17) making it possible to engage the fingers of the hand, and to grasp the handle (16) formed by the parts located between the lights (17) and the end of the flaps (6) and of the flaps (12) ; the upsets (18) separate all of the flaps (5) (6) and (-1?) from the body of the package consisting of (2) (3) and (7); note the direction of the grooves (19) very important for the solidity of the handles (16) and the ears (13); note the refoulures (20) and the refoulures (21) whose usefulness we will explain.

Figure 2 is a view of the package being formed.

The longitudinal sides (3) have been raised to form an angle of 90 with the bottom (2) and the cover (7); note that this cover (7) does not include an optional pre-cut (8); the flaps (6) have been glued to the small interior flaps (5) not visible in the drawing; the flaps (12) are being pressed on the flaps (6) and (5); the ears (13) are awaiting bonding on the sides (3); note the lights (17) visible on the flaps (6) and (12) and allowing the fingers of the hand to be introduced for gripping the packaging by the handle (16) made up of two superimposed parts of the flaps (6 ) and (12); to notice the upsets (20) allowing the deformation of the flaps (6) and (12) for a better grip of the handle; moreover, these grooves (20) have a very precise position because they correspond to the breaking lines of the carton and it is preferable that the flaps (6) and (12) deform according to breaking lines pre-marked in advance rather that these deformations take place in poor conditions resulting in an uncontrolled deformation of the packaging.

After the above descriptions we will understand the advantage that the invention provides; that is to say having added gluing tabs or "ears" (13) as an extension of the part (16) - of the flap (12) part (16) laminated to the part (16) of the lower flap (6); parts (16) reinforced with tear-proof strips incorporated in the block; therefore the fact of adding bonding tabs or ears (13) in extension of the handle (16), ensures the transmission of the lines of force when pulling on the handle by relieving the directly applied glue points.

It will be understood the advantage of the upsets (20) allowing the deformation of the handle face for gripping the packaging, by moving the handle away from the interior products; these grooves (20) superimposed grooves (21) will promote deformation in the desired places, which will also prevent the breakage of the glue dots.

The packaging could obviously be of any other design, and only include the presence of a handle with bonding tabs or ears on its upper face.

it can be envisaged not to have a doubling of the parts (16) constituting the handle, but a simple handle with bonding tab also the grooves (20) or (20 and (21) are only necessary to prevent deformation of the handle side with heavy products and accessibility of the handle, but in certain cases these push-backs are not necessary.

Claims (2)

 1 - Reinforcement system for packaging handle made of cardboard or corrugated cardboard or semi-rigid product, consisting of at least one flap (12) characterized in that the handle (16) delimited between the lumen (17) and the edge of the flap (12) has in its extension outside said flap of the bonding tabs or ears (13) intended to be bonded to the longitudinal sides (3); which bonding tabs (13) will allow when pulling on the handle to ensure the transmission of the lines of force in indirect traction and thus to relieve the directly applied adhesive points.  2- handle reinforcement system according to claim 1 characterized in that the face consisting of, one or more flaps on which the handle (16) is present may include grooves (20) or (20) and (21) allowing to move the handle (16) away from the interior products for a good grip and to initiate deformations of the cardboard which will take place in good conditions, rather than allowing deformations to take place favoring the breakage of the glue dots and a harmful deformation to the packaging.
