Abstract

Purine derivs. of formula (I) and their acid-addition salts are new (where R is OH, alkoxy or acyloxy; R is S or =N.R1; R1 is H. 1-5C alkyl or aralkyl, or 2-4C acyl). Six specifically claimed cpds. include 1,3-dimethyl-2,4-dioxo-7-hydroxy-9-benzyl-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-pyri- mido 2,1-f purine and 1,3-dimethyl-2,4-dioxo-7-acetoxy-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-thiazino 2,1-- f -purine. Used for the treatment of cardiovascular disorders. A typical cpd., 1,3-dimethyl-2,4-dioxo-7-hydroxy-9-benzyl-6,7,8,9-tetrahydropyrim- ido 2,1-f)purine, was prepd. by heating a mixt. of 8-benzylaminotheophylline and epichlorohydrin for 110h.
