Abstract
The solar heating system using air as a heat exchange medium, has the heat collectors arranged in parallel, and interconnected by ducts across their ends. Between the building to be heated such as a greenhouse (1) and the heat collectors (3) is a fan (2) which forces the air through the ducts (6b, 6c). The air then passes from the collector to a hot air storage vessel (4) and a heat exchanger (5) before travelling along a return line (7) to the greenhouse. The storage vessel has a high capacity, the heat exchanger can be used for hot water. There is a bypass line (9) connecting the output side of the collectors with the greenhouse, and for rapid heating up this line is used disconnecting the remainder (4, 5) of the circuit. Then this line is shut off, and heat is stored in the storage vessel. The output of the pump can then be varied to maintain a required temperature.
