Abstract

The folding chair consists of a base (2) formed of two U-shaped fibreglass hoops (4) supporting a seat. These are hinged together by two hinges (5) positioned a little way from the ends. Each of the two hoops (4), at least the part between the two hinges (5) is shaped like a regular curve so that the seat is balanced by the curved part resting on the ground without sliding. The curve of each hoop near the user's head is higher than that near the user's legs. Two crosspieces (9) are movably fixed to the ends of the hoops. The seat (3) is flexible or rigid and slotted onto the cross-piece (9).
