Abstract

The casting bed is used for precast concrete products e.g. fence posts. It is designed for mounting on a vibrating table, comprising a tray which accepts alternative demountable side forms and rib formers. The bed caters for several products of diverse shapes and sizes. The demountable pieces may be of synthetic material such as "arkorit" (RTM). Fixing is by bolts passing through the tray floor to be secured by nuts and washer. The products are of 'H' section, with the side voids moulded by rib formers fixed to the tray floor and overhead rails. The rails are 'U' shaped with the legs located by holes in the tray walls. The side forms may cater for reductions in the post section, and the end forms for splayed head posts. The bed may be extended to produce slabs in a demountable stack of moulds.
